Ok, so lets say I sign up to ClickBank and start promoting products, what would be the best way around it? Create a whole directory of all the products (so like a download.com / softpedia.com type site) with all them listed in their categories then promote the site via signature links etc.. etc.. Or would I be better just promoting a single product? Which of the above methods would be the best to earn the most $$$ - also what is the success rate of it too?
I think its all about going with targeted traffic to individual, unique and high quality products. Find the ones that people actually want to buy and then find a way of bringing reasonably cheap, highly targeted traffic to those products.
If you're just starting out, I would definitely recommend taking one or two products within the same genre, and promoting them only, since these products are usually pretty targetted and thus work best when you can focus efforts on finding & promoting to a specific audience. -T
Telmari said it right: take to products, and find out which one convert more. Your one product has the higher success rate. You don't want to confuse people and they just end up buying nothing. Be sure to track your advertising efforts from the ground up.
Take one (quality) product and create a free blog around that product. Write a short article (250-500 words) every day and post it on your blog. Include a link or recommendation for your product at the end of each one. Then go to pingomatic.com and 'ping' it after every post. Submit each of these articles to the various article directories at least a week after you post it on your blog. Also submit directly to ezine publishers and website owners. Repeat over and over again, and you should see some decent sales.
I'll agree with everyone saying start promoting a few products (after you research what is selling, currently in demand, and other information related to the products) and work on promoting that. You can create a simple site around that product, with an opt-in form so people can sign up for your mailing list about that product. Or you can have a main site promoting a few related products that you can give your visitors information about, as well as information that people interested in buying those products would be looking for. Do a lot of research and get used to doing so.
First off, pick something that interests you for sure. If you know the reasons people want this product you'd be more likely to pitch a convincing reason to get it. I'd say keep it small at first, then once you understand the art of being able to make commissions expand your horizons. One step at a time. Remember, A journey of a thousand miles must start with a single step.
Either focus on just one, or focus on a few related products. You can create a blog that reviews these products, and give articles related to these products. You have to give information that your visitors will find useful, and they might keep coming back to your site.
Never start off with picking products. Always conduct market research first. Here's a simplified outline of what you should do . . . find a potentially profitable market research the market's prospects in order to identify their needs and concerns pick between 3 and 5 products which fulfill the needs and concerns of the prospects create a landing page upon which you review the products send highly targeted traffic to your landing page If you do everything correctly, you should see a return.
If you are using adwords just go with a single product after considerable market research. The other way to promote all the products is to get a cb mall. Promote it. For more info on mall you can check my sign.
Softcloud there are so many variables to marketing a particular merchant or network. Things you have to ask yourself is are you in this for the short term ... 3 months to a year. If so you might as well bag it and call it quits. If you are in it for 3 months to 3 years or longer welcome aboard! Are you all about organic search or PPC. I am all about organic though I admire those that can do PPC is really has not been my cup of tea and on occasion I experiment though I have never really lost a campaign. I just don't have a passion for PPC just good ol' organic SE traffic. Anyhow that being said I have marketed clickbank products in the past and I speak as someone who use to make some money with clickbank. Not as a mainstay but supplemental along with many other merchants. It was not unusual for me to sell 2-3 products a week or even a day on rare occasion. Not bragging but that is what I did as there are people doing much better. I did find thought that focusing on 2-3 products worked best. It made it even better to be familiar with a product you actually have bought. Now myself I am going back in to do it again. I suggest you read all the clickbank stuff on this forum including all of Telmari's stuff and get to work! I would suggest a CMS such as Joomla, Drupal or some other you find will work for you. Drupal for SEO or Joomla for extentions available. Those are my favorites so that is what I suggested. There are many plugins / extensions that will or should make your life easier when working with affiliate prioducts and I know Wordpress has many though I am not litterate with Wordpress from my limited experience with it it may be supperior to the first two solutions I mentioned. The first two I menation as I am famliar and comfortable with them and have found my own custon soulutions to make affiliate links work for me. The trick here is finding something that works and stick with it. kinda like the shotgun effect ... blast a shell of if something sticks work with it but you may have to blast many shots b4 something sticks. It looks like you may be familiar with Wordpress so you may want to look into it more ... Good luck and cherio from across the pond ....
Been waiting since 12/01/2006 for my first check. Supposedly stopped payment (and charged me $30) and reissued another. Supposedly sent another check 2/16 and another 2/26. Never received those either. Customer service responded after 5 emails over a 3 week period saying the checks had been sent. Sound like the old checks in the mail story to me. Hard for me to do business with a company that still hasn't paid after 5 months. Any suggestions?
Many of the products in the entertainment section of cb's marketplace work well for me. Like everyone else said find a niche and promote a couple products first.
