Hello DP members, My question is that for some of the clickbank products, for example: http://ahreview.com/?p=6 (Fatloss4Idiots) When the hoplink is clicked with my affilate id: "doughvault" is clicked, the page opens to: http://www4.fatloss4idiots.com/?hop=doughvault The above url is perfect and important part here is that the above url contains my affilate id "doughvault". While for other clickbank products such as: http://ahreview.com/?p=32 (Burn the Fat) when the hoplink(i'm 100% sure I've made the hoplink correctly) in the above page is clicked it opens to: http://www.burnthefat.com/ i.e. NO affiliate id The important part here is that the above url does NOT contain my affilate id "doughvault". So my worry is that I will not be paid since the 'Burn the Fat' url does NOT contain my affiliate id but instead just redirects to the main page WITHOUT containing my affiliate id? Also can someone please explain to me why I'm facing this problem. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
Hi adking, You will definitely get commission even if your destination link ends without your affiliate id.When someone clicks on your link,a cookie is set on that computer and the cookie contains your affiliate ID.In order to test it,just click on your affiliate link and click on the Order button. If you can see your affiliate id at the bottom of the Secure Payment Form, you will get commission.I have tested your link and confirmed that YOU WILL GET COMMISSION. . Don't worry about your commission. Hope it helps
I had the same question the other day, basically some product sales pages are set up so as not to show an affiliate id at the end of the url. Supposedly it turns some potential buyers away when they see that..
Thanks for the reply.. yup I've just checked it too...it has my id on the payment page... By the way....your one of the few 'new members' on DP with a sensible reply! so congrats on that too... and enjoy you stay on DP!
You are welcome I like DP and want to be an active member.Just Started earning from ClickBank and expecting my first check this month.
Hi adking, We had our webmaster install a custom script on our site to "cloak" the URL when someone clicks through a BurnTheFat clickbank hoplink. Don't worry, your affiliate link is still active and will track all clicks and sales even if it is not displayed in the address bar of your browser. It is best if you use a "DISPLAY URL" of www.burnthefat.com rather than exposing the actual clickbank hoplink. Our tests have shown that when people realize they are "being sold something" on a commission basis (as opposed to simply getting a "recommendation" from an independent 3rd party), the conversion rates may drop, therefore it's best to "hide" your affiliate hoplink in your HTML code and use www.burnthefat.com as the display link. We made the effort to ensure your links remain cloaked once a visitor has arrived at our sales page. When someone clicks through YOUR hoplink, they are redirected to www.burnthefat.com and a "cookie" (a small tracking file) is dropped onto the computer of the visitor. This "marks" that visitor as coming from your referral. Clickbank uses 60 day cookies, so that means if the people you send to Burn The Fat.com purchase that day or if they return any time within the next 60 days, you will get the commission for the sale (currently 56% commission rate of net sale, or approximately $20 or $30 with change for our respective ebooks, U.S.). Best regards, -- John Sifferman NSCA-CPT Manager and Affiliate Director Burn The Fat Dot Com www.BurnTheFat.com P.S. when in doubt about whether or not your affiliate link is tracking sales, click through to our order page (the one where you enter your credit card information. Scroll down to the bottom of that page, and make sure your affiliate link is the one referenced in the [affiliate= zzzzz] brackets.
