Can I set up a campaign in AdWords where I link straight to the vendors page with my Clickbank provided Hoplink? If so, does the viewable AdWords URL have to match the URL I am taking my customers to when they click the ad?
The answer simply yes. Your destination url should be you hoplink, then your viewable url a you called it, (display url) should be at least one page from the vendors website. It may not necessarily be the home page or the sales page.
Yes to both questions, that's direct linking to the vendor. Your viewable AdWords URL should match the URL that you are taking your customers to when they click the ad.
Thanks for your help. Just out of curiosity, has anyone proven successful with this strategy? Also, Tanakanewyork, you say to link to the "sales page," instead of the provided hoplink page?
I tried and it didn't work quite well. However, I really didn't try a lot; I invested only about $20 in AdWords (and got $0 back )
I was under the impression that direct linking was prohibited by google now. I mean I know that some use it to test how well a landing page might convert, but long term I thought that it would bite you in the butt.
