ClickBank. Getting started, Questions/Advice.

So, for about 3 weeks now I have been desperately seeking a viable way to make an online based income, with hard work of course. Ive decided to go with ClickBank for my first attempt at an actual profit, and I have a few questions.

1.Will I need to invest any money to get started? (I plan on writing my own article's)

2.What are some basic starting strategies for someone who is completely new to the field.

3.If I were to get an article published, would I then need to create a website to promote my product, or, could I simply start by blogging? (feel free to suggest other methods)

4.Ive heard a lot about "call to action" and "landing page", Can someone briefly explain.

I do not intend to go into this big, I would really like to learn what I'm doing over the next few months, So I can start seeing a potential source of income in the future.

    1. Article marketing is generally free, and you don't need any kind of investment, unless you want to have your own website (will need hosting for that, which is paid) or build a list (autoresponder required, which is about $20/month).

    2. Check this out > http://www.bummarketingmethod.com

    3. Write articles, submit them to article directories, and send the traffic through your article to any Web 2.0 site, where you can add your own content, such as Squidoo, Hubpages, Blogger or anything else.

    4. "Call To Action" is basically when you are telling people what to do (pretty obvious, lol). For example "Click here" or "Check Out This Website" are call to actions.

Landing page is a page, where your visitor "lands" and where you do your marketing stuff, whether it's promoting/selling a product, building a list or whatever it is.

The key to successful sales is traffic. You can have the best blog on the Internet but it will not do a bit of good if nobody can find it.

If I were you I would learn about keyword research. The trick here is to find profitable search terms that are related to the product you are promoting. Profitable search terms are high volume with low competition.

For instance if you are trying to sell car batteries, most people would target the phrase "car batteries". But this is a highly competitive phrase and it will be very difficult for your blog to reach the first page on Google. The top page is full of PR5 and PR4 sites.

But, the phrase "12v car battery" is much easier to rank for. For that term, the first Google page shows only one PR4 and lot of PR3's and PR2's and even some PR0. This would be a much easier phrase to rank for and yet it's an exact phrase that a lot of people type into Google.

So, once you find a profitable phrase like this for your product, focus on that phrase. You can even use, or incorporate, the phrase for the title of your blog. Write blog posts and submit articles based on your profitable keyword phrases. Once you get enough back links, your blog will start climbing the ranks in Google for that phrase. The higher it climbs the more traffic you will see.

This is just one of many strategies you can use to help. Do your research, figure out a strategy that makes sense for you and stick to it. There are so many ways to get distracted in this business. Stay focused and stay with your game plan.

    Good luck

Time or money, One of the two.

2.What are some basic starting strategies for someone who is completely new to the field.

All the differnet forms of marketing can generate free traffic for you but this will take time and patience. Before even asking about traffic I would simply make sure you have the right keywords selected. Go after keywords with a buying intent, not just ones that have a high demand and low competition that don't matter.

3.If I were to get an article published, would I then need to create a website to promote my product, or, could I simply start by blogging? (feel free to suggest other methods)

Promote off a free blog all day long. Affiliate marketing at its best.

I guessed I've missed something here. So lets say I have picked a product to promote. I wrote a 250 word article on articlebase, only to come to realize they dont allow affiliate links. Did the same with wordpress blog which also wouldn't allow it.

So I guess my question is, how do I go about advertising my affiliate link if none of the free sites allow it?

The easiest would be to create a free blogger site. You can use this site to create some complimentary content. You can also create a landing page to promote your product. You can then link your articlebase articles to this landing page.

You can really just start with a basic review site on a free blog host to test products and niches. Just keep it simple, offer quality posts and link to the products. Once you hit a hot niche that you like, then build a real site. Drive traffic to the blog from articles, forums, etc.

I suggest you set up a landing page to build your list from and redirect them from there to your affiliate offer. You can build your landing page using most of the info you have produced in the articles you have written.
