ClickBank disapointment

I recently joined Clickbank and when trying to find products to sell in my niche, I noticed all of the "pitch pages" are awful! They are all "typical spammy looking large red text 10,000+ word count sales pitchy pages" that always turn me off when I come accross them online. If it bothers me, how can I promote the products? Are there any products without this or is there an alternative?

if you really need one of those products, but don't like the sales page why don't you write your own and link directly to the checkout page. i did it with a few products, which didn't have any sales page at all, just a few sentences and pictures, but i knew the product was good, so i did my own sales page for it and it worked.
if you know what type of sales page or review would sell to your visitors then go and make it ;)

Welcome to Clickbank. Almost all the sites listed there are like that. The main reason? It works. The direct sales copy/mini site works and has been proven to work 100 times over... why do you think there are so many of them?

Thats exactly what i tought myself at first glance when i first started with clickbank - they look spammy but if you are a customer interested in the product, those "spammy pages" are a sales machine that will generate cash.

I also used to think the pages looked pathetic and scammy, however we can't argue with statistics and the statistics are proving they're selling.

Searchbliss i'm totally with you ... when i first started this i couldn't believe it either ... i've always wondered if people read the whole thing, like, you'd need an hour to read some of them lol!!

but yes, they obviously do work, otherwise people wouldn't be doing them ...

welcome to the world of clickbank marketing :)

I know, it's really, really difficult to believe that all those sales pages are tried and tested and the best-performing ones, isn't it?!

I admit I sometimes (actually pretty often) wonder whether everyone's just assuming that they're the best sort because everyone else says they are, and whether it might all turn out to be some colossal mistake.

But as observed above, if you think you can do better than the publisher's sales-page, there's nothing to stop you from doing your own style and linking directly to the payment page.

It really does make you wonder ...

Definitely agree, Alexa. Sometimes I even have trouble as to whether or not to promote some products because I feel like if I recommended it to a friend who had the problem the product was trying to solve, they'd look at me like ":( C'mon, I thought you wanted to really help me..."

Hence why I personally try hard to be very thorough when evaluating whether or not to sell CB product... and if it doesn't look like something I could reasonably recommend to a friend (even if I'd never need it myself...), I won't sell it.

At the end of the day, if you sell it without the honest intention that it will/should truly help the person solve their problem -- even if they're willing to pay for it, you haven't honestly made money.

That said, however, there are a few CB gems out there that aren't spammy download, satellite TV, 'make-money-online' schemes - and if you can find them & get them in front of the right people, you can do fairly well!

exactly. i've always been thinking that everyone's doing it because some 'guru' did it once and it worked for him. the reason it works for these gurus is because they sell it to their lists, not to the average Joe Public. their list is presold already and buys without even reading all this fluff. but for an average affiliate with organic traffic i think it kills conversions.

i don't know about others but for me personally pages like this one for example http://meso-guide.com/ have always been converting much better than these mile long sheets full of BS.

but go and give it to a 'guru' copywriter and he will make this page go from 1in10 conversion to 1in100 lol :)

ps. for anyone that's already writing his articles about the meso-guide - this page is just an example, i have no idea if sells :)

Yes just because all say that they work better doesn't mean they cant be better ;) maybe they're working just at it's 80% potential and they can be improved to reach a 100%, that's what I think.

This was my exact thought when I first started as an affiliate. Even now I would never buy from one of these mega hype sales pitch pages, but I guess the type of people that buy ebooks in the first place love them.

    Hey SearchBliss,
We've just launched a similar product right now.
But, you'll find our sales page with lots of great graphics and no-so-long characteristics..
We've tried to keep it concise and to-the-point. I've created a thread here about it as well..
But, the direct link for promotional tools are : http://dumbaffiliate.com/affiliates.php

The sales page is : http://dumbaffiliate.com/
I hope you'll find this one different...

I have found the same result - if your customer is looking for a specific piece of information and it fits their need, they will buy - no matter how crummy the sales page.
