Exactly, it's not about quantity but all about quality. The more targeted traffic you send the better.

lol, but in my case, I got lots of targeted traffic, and still no sales

    P.S. The product does convert.

Had a sale few days ago, but still conversions suck.

I'm not gonna blame Clickbank anymore, I will just keep on doing what I have to do...

Then if it's targeted traffic and the product is a proven converter then it can only come down to the way that you are promoting it?

Unless of course the niche itself is dying or on the way out. I've had sites that made an easy $100 a day and now a few years later those same sites will be lucky to get $100 a year.

It seems to be a bit of a mystery, has bla4ckman been blacklisted by clickbank? :D

Nononono, I'm on their golden list of "super affiliates".

The problem is that sometimes some strange things happen

Made nearly $300 this week, most of it from direct linking from Adwords. I am doing very little with Adwords at the moment, but this particular product is hot and coverting like crazy.

    adspend = $10 for 19 hops = 2 sales = $159 = Happy Bunny

It's better to use HTML or PHP redirect.

Why don't you try using a landing page? Your conversions might increase :)

I've noticed two distinct themes in this thread. One: obviously CB might be having problems, but at the same time it could be the economy as a whole. Could be both. Two: there is a false assumption that all traffic quality is equal and that all traffic is "targeted" if it shows up to your site. I've done PPC long enough to know that you can have two keywords in the same niche that *should* convert the same and one is a super hero and the other is a super dud. Both are "targeted", but one converts. Same landing page. Keep in mind that often times early success could be a fluke or your traffic quality could change dramatically. Article marketing works not because it is a good source of traffic as much as because it is a great way to pre-sell a product. It gets in the customer's head before they even see the product. It's like those email list spams that Info Product guys are so fond of. They pre-sell the list on the product before it's even available. Same principle.

Long story short, in this economy and CB sucking, focus on SELLING your product to your traffic. Not just getting them to your page.

You got a point there, but I don't think that "economy" affects Clickbank sales that much, because otherwise super affiliates would've become piss'n'poor in the matter of days...

So I would say more realistic problems would be, as you said, traffic quality and keywords...

Tried some direct linking. Hops increased, but sales dropped.

Landing page is the way to go.

I will agree though that CB isn't turning over quite like it should. Not sure what the deal is though.

Actually, I'm going to switch over to promoting products from Azoogle, Pepperjam, and CJ. I don't have to worry about them tracking sales or trying to screw me.

Terrible commissions or not, if CB doesn't convert it doesn't matter. There are people who make 100k+ a month on dating offers that pay $2.50-4 per lead. Those commissions are terrible, but the conversions are huge.
