Hey My cheque got sent on the 2nd of Feb, does anyone know how long it usually takes cheques to arrive in the UK? Thanks
yeah it takes awhile - unless you have weekly direct deposit - It's almost better than pay-pal because your bank doesn't freeze your account!
Yeah it does take a while. I suggest putting your check threshold to low so you can get 3 checks asap and then switch to direct deposit. My main affiliate a/c is on direct deposit but I'm creating new accounts for publishing and have to wait for the dreaded 3 cheques first! Incidentally how much does your bank charge. HSBC charge £5 to cash US cheques. Also mate, with a US cheque you need to do something daft called "endorsing" it. There is a space on the back to fill in either your name or your signature. I forget which so I just write my full name in block capitals and sign it - never had a problem with it clearing.
Yeah, I use their direct deposit, however: - Not all countries qualify for it - You need to receive at least 3 cheques in 90 days period to qualify for it.
I'm not so sure how long it would take in UK, but in my country, only managed to get it in a week or so..
It takes about 10 days get here but i would save your first 3 cheques and cash them together bank charges will be less, then switch to direct payment.
firstly, your cheque got sent on a monday? anyways ... with me, when the cheque was sent on the wednesday i would normally have it in my letterbox by the following wednesday, barring any public holidays etc .... but yeah ... go for direct deposit as soon as you can EDIT : ah wait, maybe you are on monthly or twice monthly? switch to weekly pays so that you have more chance of getting your direct deposit setup sooner
Are you sure HSBC has a flat £5 charge? I thought it was 6% with a £5 minimum, and £50 maximum, it might have changed though. That 'endorsing' thing is weird, is the back of the cheque blank or does it say 'sign here do endorse cheque' or something along those lines?
Ah I see. I only checked the charges recently and it must have been on a cheque just under 100 bucks. I should save them up but I always think I'll forget to deposit them if I don't. You must be right because I've never looke dup the charges. Bit weird the way they always send you a letter in the post to confirm, as if I care! Just "show me the money!!!" Yeah on the back of the cheque there is a space that says "endorsements" or something. I'm not sure what the deal is but the first time I ever put a check in the HSBC woman said I had to endorse it with my name. Might be total bollocks but every time I now print my name and sign in this space. I should just google it to find out what the purpose is but I can't be arsed
Congrats! You received your first pay check. Wait till u get the third one and then switch to direct deposit.
Hopefully you see this. But err, yeah, when I cashed it last week the woman said there's a £10 fee and they'll send me a letter with how much I'll get, how long did it take for you to cash your cheques?
takes overnight with hsbc according to the woman behind the counter, but it took overnight once 2 days another time and 3 days with the 3 checks i received. and yes with hsbc they charged me £10 flat fee
