Yes, I did the 30 day challenge before I started this journal. Just the first few days are gold, teaching you to do proper keyword research.

    no new sales.

I've gotten through a chunk of my rejected articles, so hopefully some traffic will start flowing in.

    Hi Supper,
Great going there... Would you mind posting some updated stats of everything

What kind of traffic are you getting on average per article per day?
What kind of CTR are you getting on average per article per day in resource box?
How many total articles you have out?
What is your future plan? Whats your target by the end of lets say month, year. That would help you stay focused and help us who are looking into article marketing for affiliate purposes :D

Here is the breakdown from the "box" in the EA.

    Account Article Statistics

    Page Views: 8,108
    Published: 255
    URL Clicks: 812
    Emailed: 1
    Comments: 1
    Votes: 12
    Live Articles: 93
    Pending Articles: 4
    Problem Articles: 4

I guess that makes my resource box CTR about 10%.

As for where I want to go. I want to get a sale everyday, than two, than three, than four, etc lol.

Got a sale last night. Infact two, but the guy bought the exact same item. So instead of a $120 commission, it'll be $60.

I'm not complaining. Woohoo. A sale in under a week(6 days lol). It was just in time.

Damn straight. There's no shortcuts hehe.

    ---

Just finished fixing my problem articles at EA. Apparently they were rejected because the sales page I sent them to in my resource box weren't long enough. lame!

Hey Supper, congratulations on the latest sale! This thread is fantastic! Quick question on the method here, do these articles link directly to the clickbank affiliate's sales page (I thought this would be against EA's TOS) or do you have a page in between? If so what is the nature of this page? Do you have to keep updating the intermediate page as well as writing new articles?

Hi Supper, nice one on another sale, ...how many ezine articles are you on average linking back to one landing page, i.e 20-1, plus any tips on creating other backlinks aside from ezine? cheers

I have a sales page in between. The whole point of the page is to advertise the product. It can be as simple as a review, or sometimes I'll write it like a typical sales page as an affiliate. I don't really see the need to update it.

I think I must have 70 going back to one landing page lol. But that is from a product that isn't selling. I'm not really sure. I haven't been doing this long enough to really give you a straight answer.

As for getting backlinks. Well, we post our articles on ezine, so other publishers will post the article with our resource box on their sites. So that is a way to get backlinks. I think this thread gives good information. I'm not really sure how effective getting into directories is anymore. I think social bookmarking is way over rated and looking for a google smack. Well, I think we can agree it isn't a viable long term strategy.

    --------------
    To update the journal.

    total clicks 583
    sales 3
    commission $130

After much thought and consulting with more experienced webmasters, I can no longer ethically use my resource box on article sites to link to squidoo or blogspot or any free domain service. I don't feel comfortable with it, and I don't think it is a viable long term strategy. I'm going to link back to something that I own, so I control and I get the benefits of it. I feel since squidoo has no quality control and is turning into a spam fest that one of these days google is going to slap it or the staff at squidoo is going to crack down.

i know what you mean, i'm also so new to this that i'll try and get about 200 articles up backlinking to maybe 4 or so landing pages and will take it from there, i dont have any sales yet so $150 aint bad! I've found an affiliate that just with about 13 clicks has paid about $25, but no sales, it just says bonus?

If it's a numbers game, then with Travis having over 175K USFreeads going, then you gotta be pulling in alot.
Don't think I'm up for that challenge though.

Like yourself still getting my head round it all, all the tools at your disposal, 30 day challenge, driving traffic etc. I do want to get into adsense but i haven't got my head round all the above yet, so will be journey. But your right, when the penny drops, having your own site which you can fully customise to the product your offering with ads etc got 2 be better than banking on a link in squidoo, blogger goarticle etc

    cheers for the link thread,

Keep your thread going though, where ever it leads.

another sale last night. The commission was only $18. It was my very first product I wrote articles for. Finally made a sale from that. The commission isn't the best. The sale converted from my blog I put up. I rewrote my articles I submitted to EA and put them on a blog, so I'm guessing that was sweet google traffic (or msn live, it likes my site).

    total commission: $148

Now I'm starting to get worried about getting my check. All my sales came from visa. This one came from american express. Hopefully a mastercard soon.

When I get my first pay check from clickbank, I'm getting an account at aweber.

Very encouraging to see that this whole article writing is paying off eventually. I hope my efforts will pay out some day too.
