I have just finish getting my ebook done and the salespage is almost complete now. That product was initially developed to be included in the Clickbank marketplace, but I heard there are a lot of complaints that affiliates are not getting rewarded for the sales that they brought for the publishers. I am asking for the opinion from experienced marketers in DP to see if there are other affiliate marketing network that I should use to market my product.
I would recommend you try out Click2Sell. It's free to sign up as a merchant and you have the flexibility to choose which payment processors you would like to use. I'm about to launch my weight loss eBook very soon using Click2Sell just because I'm fed up with ClickBank.
I would still opt for clickbank if I were you simply because of the affiliate network that they have. If you launch with click2sell you are not going to get anywhere near the exposure and if you want to make decent money you either have to do all the work your self or you can get affiliates to help, I doubt if you will get a handful of affiliates with click2sell (I have no time for them after they spammed me telling me to join there network and sell my products through them, although that was a while ago). Why not join both and see which one produces the most revenue for you?
@HiddenCrimson - Thanks for the recommendation HiddenCrimson. I will check out Click2sell. @terryd - Are you it is okay to launch my product on both network terryd? I might do that if it's possible. @ryanman - I will check paydotcom out Thanks for the recommendation. BTW, have anyone heard about e-junkie? Do you have a product with them? Are they good?
There are lots of alternative, but despite Clickbank's tracking issues and other problems, they are still the best for me. Here are some alternatives: www.cj.com www.paydotcom.com www.linkshare.com www.click2sell.com www.hydranetwork.com www.marketleverage.com
Clickbank has a large affiliate base, so I imagine it's easier to recruit affiliates. Paydotcom is good if you like getting paid via PayPal, but has a smaller affilaite base. Alternatively you could cut out the middle man and set up your own independent affiliate program, I believe eJunkie provides such a service, actually now I think about it that wouldn't be cutting out the middle man.
ClickBank have a monopoly in digital goods product. no other network really stands near to CB. Yes, there are some problems going with CC processing but it will be sort it out soon. I truly belive that launch product with CB, build good affiliate base and if you are not satisfied you can rather move to another one and inform affiliate about your new network.
The so called problems have been on for many months now, they are not going to be fixed since for clickbank they are not problems but just their fraud system at work (That is getting more strict everyday). They prefare to reject hundreds of perfectly good transactions and avoid a single fraudamental one. Why you may ask? Simply because from lets say from a hundred transactions clickbank earn maybe $200 bucks? However for a single fraudamental transaction they get involved in lot of hassle and it cost them way more than the $200 to tackle. Its kind of they do their maths, think about themselves and ignore the part that by rejecting those transaction they are just throwing away possible thousands of bucks to their publishers and affiliates... Let apart frustrated customers that want to buy and are not able to, ClickBank is teaching these customers that their payment processor does not work so its likely that they wownt even attempt to buy in the future when they see a clickbank checkout page... Its not as easy as it sound, its pratically impossible to convince hundreds or even thousands of affiliates to move to another network. It would be easy for them to just promote another product. Let apart that clickbank do not offer any way to contact affiliate directly so it its not kind of you drop them an email and thats all. If you move a product to another network they will just feel cheated that you are taking all the comission and leaving them out - which means that you can say goodbye to all your affiliates....
Y'know it could just be the current ecenomic situation which is causing the lack of sales, but people would rather blame ClickBank than the economy. Besides, this whole 'reporting problems' thing is getting them a whole lot of bad publicity, I'm sure they're doing as much as possible to fix any problems if there even are any.
Web 18 designer, I agree with you to some extent but what about the affiliate volume? clickbank have more than 100000 affiliates its almost double to any current affiliate network. Preventing fraud is necessity of any business to stay in profit. Personally do you find any value in paydotcom or click2sell products?
According to the payment period, many member of cb may get the quick payment from cb within their first month. While they may have to wait over 3 months to get payment from other commission sites. This is pretty good for a new affiliate.
Inspite of all the problems with CB, it is still the BEST Platform for a publisher to launch a digital product. You can launch your ebook with another network as well and then do some testing to find out what works better..
