Try to look for long tail keyphrases, 3+ keywords in the keyphrase. There's so many other tips and things to keep in mind though, it's hard to spell them all out here. I think an hour or two of searching here on the forums could save you some trouble -T
A lot of the affiliates on clickbank offer you quite a bit of helpful information. What I do: Try to find something you know about, read through the sales page, see how you feel about the product, click the affiliate link (usually towards the bottom), find the recommended keywords (most will give this for a adwords campaign), use those, expand with more of your own keywords based on these / variations of the given words, try for position 3 in adwords. Good luck. I'd also recommend reading through most of the posts in this forum. Knowledge is the factor that will set you apart for success. Expect failures to come, but learn from them and do not quit.
Search through Clickbank's marketplace and watch for high gravity products, that will give you some general idea what is selling today. Well, that depends on the niche, you can use free keyword tools to see what are people looking for: Overture & Wordtracker Yeah, don't rush, read through this forum, that topic have been covered trillions times here. Read, read, read, then when you fell like you're ready - implement, if it doesn't work, try a different approach. Just test, stick with what works and dump everything that doesn't. Good luck!
