    Hi

I have just signed up with Clickbank and selected a product to sell. I created a hoplink but I also created an ID or product link direct with the product seller. What I need to know if someone buys the product will that go through the Click bank tracker or how would I track it?

Anyhelp appreciated. Please be nice Ihave just started with this,

    Thanks

    Pete

Each product will generate its own specific hoplink based on your account. All you have to do is get potential buyers to click your link, and if the product is purchased you will automatically get credit for the sale.

    Thanks

I am just a bit concerned as the only time i see the hoplinks going up is when i click on the actual hoplink not the link direct from the product owner that i click on , that one doesnt register with clickbank. as long as the sales do i suppose thats the main thing.

That's the theory. The reality, sadly, is rather different. Clickbank has had major tracking problems for some months now and there's no certainty. Affiliates are deserting Clickbank in large numbers and looking at other affiliate networks. Seriously, this huge issue is something to be very aware of and think about; it really is.

Alexa when you make claims like this, it would be nice if you could back it up somehow with a source.

    Yep.
"clickbank tracking problems" threads have been around since long before I joined this forum in 2007.
And apart from a few really short outages I'm yet to see any significant problems.
Most of the time people people report problems without having enough traffic for their data to be statistically reliable.

    I understand. I agree.

I think I can't put links here to threads in a "competitor forum", but just take a good look around in the Warrior Forum where many longstanding, well-established, highly respected and obviously well-informed members have been commenting in considerable detail on such difficulties for many months now. (You might have to use the search function there; it may not be trivially easy, but I'm not making it up!).

Part of the whole "Clickbank problem" at the moment is the difficulty in discussing this and quoting sources, because the Clickbank Forum censors everything to such a high degree that nothing that can possibly be construed as criticising Clickbank (i.e. revealing the truth) is tolerated there at all.

It's astonishing, and in a way a bit frightening, how successful they have been at preventing so many people from realising what's been going on there, and for how long. But they're still losing affiliates like never before over this issue.

I understand that part of the problem (I don't know how big a part) is that if people have "Spybot Search And Destroy" loaded on their PC's, their Clickbank affiliate cookies can't be tracked. I've seen this discussed extensively elsewhere (not in the Clickbank Forum, of course) by people who know far more about it, and its significance, than I do. The last time I saw any experts discussing it, there still wasn't a solution to it. Apart from using alternative sites like Click2sell and so on instead, of course.
