Google haven't specifically identified the factors they use when deciding if clicks are fraudulent or not. Quote from ClickZ News: That's about as good as it gets. There should be some good threads on the forums already.
amen to that, they have technical specialists analysing clicks to make sure the pulishers are not getting ripped off...
They have a Genie in the bottle, very powerful one. and she tells them everything about Fraudent clicks. *Thats the most reasonable answer I can think of...
Google's got millions of subscribers to AdSense advertising program. Do you really assume that the technical specialists manually analyse the clicks?
I am absolutely not going to try to fool anyone in this world for any purposes including to gain profits. I hope, I will be able make my living for expense of my own skills and hard work. While posting the thread I was just curious if anyone had any ponderable guesses on this issue. I read Google's comments on this, but it appears that it gets off with some general phrases only. I understand that they keep it secret to prevent swindlers' ways to overcome click fraud protection measures. At the same, publishers still have the right to know if they are not groundlessly bereft of incomes when many of the clicks are filtered off.
As a publisher and advertiser I have confidence that the Google Adsense is doing everything possible to reduce click fraud. However, the truth is that it's impossible to get reduce clickfraud down to zero and it's an assumed risk with contextual advertising. Also, to think that Google would come out and say, this is what we do and how we do it, is ridiculous. There would be people taking advantage of it left and right for sure. For some, easy money is just to hard to pass up, no matter what morals are involved.
I've got one question. It can happen in a second that you unintentionally click on your ad, as you try to... I don't know, your mouse don't work perfect, you try to close window or something like that, but you click on ad... Will google ban you because of one or 2 clicks? This is intereseting question, which can happen to everyone, so don't try do answer in style, don't even try to click your ads.
No, Google will not ban you right away for your accidental clicks, it happend to me few times. but whenever it happens, I write to google, inform them about the accidental clicks always to get a canned reply, with thanking me for informing them, and blah blah blah. I account is working fine, and this month, touchwood, I am gonna get my 16th cheque from google.
cookies, patterns, time, ip, url, stats... lots of stats... in truth, no one knows, but we can only speculate. Eventually you'd get caught trying to make fraudulent clicks almost 100% of the time.
