Today, as usual i entered my AdSense account and saw something weird... Normally i got 30-50 clicks per day, but today i saw 180 clicks from the same ad giving $0,03 It was obvious someone did that to get my account banned, can it really happen? I emailed AdSense right away telling them that i saw something weird in my clicks and if i had to be worried. Any suggestions?
You've done the right thing by alerting them to the suspicious activity. You should be okay. Get yourself Adlogger or similar to detect suspect clicks in future.
i think over the time adsense improved and know a normal small webmasters problem. If you email them than they'll favor you.
Hey guys, thank you for the answers. CountryBoy i'll try ClickAider because AdLogger seems to be halted now and it doesnt track IE users. i'll wait for AdSense reply but i think it'll be on monday or tuesday..
Adlogger is no longer available, it was a great tool when around... but it doesn't track properly nowadays if you were/are using it to stop click bombs. www.asrep.com is what I recommend. Personally I would never try Clickaider as it's web based - your dependent on someone else's site and hosting?! No thanks!
It's a complete misconception to presume that AdLogger is no longer functional in reporting click frauds; refer to this thread pertaining to what particular features are not operational. Basically, AdLogger will indeed record clicks, but simply not the website(s) that are being visited via the advertisements. Having an application such as this is crucial, especially given the inexhaustible jealousy held by certain webmasters.
not logical. 1) how do you know for sure that all the clicks were from the same ad? 2) 180 clicks for 3 cents doesn't add up, unless you were monitoring a channel that had a cpm image ad it in... cpm banner clicks show zero earnings, so there can't be any click fraud there.
I am not presuming anything... Read what the developer of adlogger himself said. http://www.adlogger.org/announcements/adlogger/#comments Therefore, adlogger does NOT record clicks in the newest version of MSIE.
Well its obvious that google knew all that 182clicks were from the same IP in a short period of time so it didn't give me money for it, or at least that is what i think. i don't know they were the same ad, but its obvious it was the same person who clicked 182 times.
you don't have any solid data to back any of that up, and you are ignoring the obvious conclusion that it's probably clicks on a cpm ad. i'd guess that when google discounts for multiple clicks from the same i.p., they aren't going to tell you the number of clicks that they took off of your total... telling people would just cause confusion like you have right now.
that's what i already told you, twice now. do you have a lot of image ads showing up in your ad blocks? they could be site-targeted cpm ads.
No, 0 Image ads since i disabled them, its only text. What i was telling before is that they don't count as clicks, and they dont show either as clicks, and im seeing 182clicks.
disabling image ads won't stop site-targeted cpm ads from showing up on your pages... some of them appear to be text ads, but usually one advertiser takes over the entire ad block. in order to properly disable images ads, you have to make sure that none of the ad blocks allow for image ads to appear... you can't just disable it at the account level.
