Aside from letting Google know, is there anything else to do if you suspect someone is fraudulently clicking your ads?

If I think someone is clicking on my site repeatedly, I will thik very very hard ...to let Google knows. Why? Because after reading postings here, I have seen how honest ppl get kicked out by google adsense after sending an email saying that someone had fraudulantly commited clicks on their site.

But if there's anything else you can do to settle the problem .. that would be interesting.

Thing that first comes to mind, is how do you know?
Second, how would G know you know?

I would just let Google do their job. As long as it's not you clicking your own ads, and you not asking people to click your ads, you're fine.

    Iskandar,

Ick, a couple weeks ago my g/f wanted to look at one of her ads and accidentally clicked it. Since we share the same IP that I log into adsense from all the time, it seemed like a good idea to report the accidental click. They haven't kicked me yet, I certainly hope they don't. :( That's crazy that someone who reports fraudulent clicks would get kicked, considering one would think that if you're reporting it... you're either very, very stupid, or trying to be honest.

From what i read in this forum, it's okay to report to google if YOU accidentally clicked your ads (they don't count clicks from your IP).

But i have read postings here (.. if only i could show you the link .. ) from a fella who have been kicked out of adsense because he sent an email to google reporting that something fishy is going on. He thinks someone has clicked on his ads repeatedly (or sth like that), making his revenue increases sharply.

He asked ppl in this forum about that and everybody said .. go on, report to adsense .. after he reported to google he received an email from the company, saying that they have terminated his account.

Honesty is good, but to get terminated this way is certainly not.

I hope there's more to the story than that. Taken at face value it doesn't make sense.

    Iskandar,

That is scary, considering, from what I hear, Google redistributes your money. It's always said "a competitor can't do anything to hurt your site" by linking to you, or whatever... but if they cause a drastic jump in your clicks, if that story is true, they could cost you your current balance plus future revenue. Pretty mean.

Google should come up with an "adsense/adwords watcher" program installed in adsense/adwords accounts. This would make their work easier too. Most publishers would be willing to cooperate with G in this matter.

Most of the publishers have no way of checking clicks to/from their websites.

Google has addressed my concerns, and I remain a member in good standing of the AdSense program. I do get the impression that they are doing "something" but I don't know what that might be.

I would keep evidence of the suspected fraud, ips etc. Incase there is a problem later.
