Click Bomb>>>>>Google should change their policy??

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by jamshed_11946, Jul 11, 2009.

Two days ago, Google disabled my account due to click bomb. I never clicked on my own ads nor i asked to anybody to click. But someone clicked on my ads continuously.
What a webmaster can do of this click bomb???

Now, the question is that Google should change their policy. Google should ban ip that is continuously clicking on someone ads.
What do you say about this.

Impossible. Google can do nothing if the bombers have random IP or so. If you see large clicks always inform google before they ban you.

Atleast on can get idea from the Google Adsense Reports. If you see like abnormal clicks you can tell that to google. Also, some scripts are available to detect fraud clicks.

It is best to have a chat with Google and ask them to remove all earned from that Clicked IP" or those that they believe are Fraudulent and allow them to do that and then re-activate your account.

I have installed anlytics on my sites so i have extra evidence of who comes to my sites for Google.

Can you please tell me how many clicks that person did? How were you able to tell that someone was click bombing you?

When is a lot of clicks simply too many? Is there a point where you should get concerned?...

Here is the way I see it. If you have a site and you are getting HIGHLY targeted traffic, then people are bound to click on those ads. Think of a diet site that's targeting the keyword "how to lose 10 pounds in a day". Let's assume that it ranks #1 on Google for that keyword.

Lets further assume that there are about 10 people searching for that within a day and about 50% of those will end up at your blog. Once at the blog, there is a flashing ad claiming to show you the secret of how to lose those 10 pounds within a day. 50% of those visitors click on that ad since it's exactly what they are looking for. If you do the math, you'll notice that this comes up to a 25% CTR.

Everybody says that such CTR is almost impossible - but is it really? If the above case was one of my sites and I constantly saw 10 visits and a 25% CTR (for the shake of making it simpler = 3 clicks) Am I to assume that I am being clickbombed? What if we were to triple or quadruple those numbers? 40 visits/10 clicks..

Would love to hear your thoughts cause I am facing a similar scenario as the one mentioned above.

    Thanks!

you need a tool such as Google analytis, and use it to detect the ip of bomber, then use a plugin or whatever that can prohibite that ip

I take vote on that if there are more clicks then there are visits then something is wrong.

This would be something you would have to monitor yourself. If you see a large difference in earnings report it to Google and they will investigate. Better for you to report it then for them to find it.

I think CTR = 25% is ok, as long as it is explanable. But if you suddenly see CTR increases dramatically, you should investigate whether there is a click bomb or something special happened.

Usually this happens if you make little money and you have very quick changes in number of clicks. Google always suspects this kind of activity. Try to make lots of pages so you have more activity on your account.
    Also, avoid spammy content...

even if you have ctr more than 25% its ok, main problem arrives when google sees same person clicking on multiple ads, so if 50 uniwue people come to the site, and and 15 of them clicks, it will a very high CTR, but u should not be worry for that!

@amshed_11946 , sorry to hear that buddy!
