Click Bank Question

So I did a little experiment:
With clickbank, you can select products to advertize before loging in. So I did that, then made up a fake user name and typed it in, thinking that I would just get a meswsage to the effect of "sorry user name not found." Yet what did I get? An affiliate link with my fake user name in it.

My question is how is this possible?

    smart on their part

if someone typo's the addy & a sale is generated, no loss to the merchant if they can't find an affiliate to pay the commission to.

good question - wonder if it's like this with other networks ... time to test

I don't think it really matters... if you're that careless and send traffic to the wrong aff link, you'll never get paid anyway.

But it is a good point you bring up. If you're not careful you could have a small typo and screw yourself up pretty good! :)
