I think I have like 7GB's left. I need to clean it out.

Can anyone give me some good suggestions on cleaning it out and freeing up some space? I mean that generally, not specifically.

    I need more space.

Go to My Computer > Right Click on a Hard Disk Drive > Click Properties > Click Disk Cleanup. This clears a lot of unneeded stuff on your hard drive. :)

Thats a good idea, But still if you want to get your disk cleaned up then ultimate solution is format it.... Everything gone. Whatever is extremely important for you, just take backup for that before formatting. Formatting will also increase speed of your system.. :)

go to your windows install folder e.g c:\windows and then \documents and settings\your username\local settings\temp and delete all the files - they are temporary files that are not needed.

Also go to internet explorer\tools\internet options and delete your temporary internet files.

This can free up a lot of space!

    • Empty the recycle bin
    • Uninstall programs you dont use
    • Use the search to find rar and zip files and delete them. Alot of people dont delete archives after they have used them, this takes up alot of space
    • Also use the search to find the files that are taking up the most space. Delete them.
    • Get a portable HDD and put all your large files onto there.
