clean URL

am currently developing a social website,how do i create a pretty URL to include user's username when in their profile area something similar to this www.socialwebsite.com/username

so how do i create this kind of pretty url using a user's username?

 

You could pull their info into a file. Ex: 'profile.php?member=name'

Then you could just use the rewrite engine, to have 'name' as a subfolder.

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^([a-z0-9-]+)[/]*$ profile.php?member=$1

Code (markup):

So 'profile.php?member=name' would yield an url like this:
www.domain.com/name

Hi dear
I have site www.entab.net and I rewrite www.entab.net/support.aspx?ConTabID=99 url to this http://www.entab.net/99_suport.aspx url. It's wk fine for 1 week but google Search engine again showing old url means dynamic url www.entab.net/support.aspx?ConTabID=99. Plz suggest me solution how I crawl http://www.entab.net/99_suport.aspx url in google.

 

Remove ALL of the old dynamic links, and put the new url everywhere you would put the old one and google will eventually do an update and the new url will show.
