Suggestion Clean up old posts!

Years old post in the help sections are great. Keeps when people actually use the search feature, we can bring up all kinds of info.

But having sales and such thats 3 years old is ridiculous. Especially when the similar threads area shows nothing but posts from 3-4 years old! Really, why would DP even need them? why have similar threads if they are way out of date?
example: I search for templates for sale, click one see that i just missed it. Then at the bottom it shows me similar threads from 2007/9! Cleaning up the forum and database would definitely speed up the site, free up resources for DP and Maybe even make hosting a bit cheaper.

But if you do have a use for years old threads at least fix it where we don't see them in the similar thread box in the Market. When i look there im looking for recent similar sales.

    just my 25cents.

:) :p ;) You do know, DigitalPoint is hosted on a $100,000.00 (one hundred thousand dollars) server... Right? I doubt he's worried about the colo costs.

ok so, without deleting threads, can we still get recent similar threads in the market? How many people actually wanted to see a sales thread from 3 years ago when they are searching for something to buy or sell?

Well as far as server expenses go i was thinking DP had the cloud hosting(Similar to pay for what you need). So it would still take longer for the need to upgrade. But if the server costs that much, then surely there must be enough space for about 2 more years worth of threads!

$100,000? wait wut? where does the money come from? Surely not those invisible ads we never see!

How about creating an archive? Which isn't visible when searching for posts?

Well traffic will surely reduce if old posts are cleaned up as those are indexed and also get lods of traffic to DP
