    Hello all,

I am looking to start a classifieds site and I came across marketgrabber.com from the Better Business Bureau.

It looks decent but the big question; does it work? Has anyone had any experience with them and their work. They are owned by a company called Alphaplex.

What other companies are out there that have created something similar that is turnkey?

Let me know your your thoughts on this…

    Cheers!!

Hi, It is good idea entering in classifieds business by setting up the classifieds portal. And AJ Classifieds - Classifieds Software is the best to create your own classifieds site with the rich set of user & seo friendly features that helps you to get a good return on investment.

You could always try a CMS such as Drupal, which has at least one module for classified ads (along with other ways to make them thanks to its flexibility). The benefit of this is that you can produce something different and won't be limited by the classified ads script. There is a great degree of customisation over presentation and not just due to themes, but modules such as Views and Panels (among others).

Whatever you choose, remember to offer something different and better that people want, to compete in such a saturated market.

As with everything, it depends a bit on what you want to achieve.

Have you ever run a classifieds site before?

    Hey Roger,
I looked up marketgrabber.com and looks like it has low ranking, I don't thing Ive ever heard of them, look at the script directories here is a list of lots of them:

    http://www.clonephp.com/craigslist/
    http://www.clonephp.com/classifieds/
    http://www.scriptcopy.com/craigslist-clone-script/
    http://www.scriptcopy.com/classfieds-clone-script/
    http://www.scriptplazza.com/tag/craigslist-clone/

Look at the ones with good ranking, don't go for the 99 dollar ones those are a waste of your time and money, you want to get a great classified script if you are serious about it.
Make sure you get one with good support, this will ensure you that you will not fail due to issues working the script, make sure the code is open source an non encrypted.
All those things are very important when buying a script. From my experience this is the best classifieds script I know of: php classifieds but like any other business I would encourage you to do your research before jumping into it.
Best luck in your new site, and make sure you never give up!
I believe where there is a will there is always must be a way!
    Cheers!

if you're non-technical than try wordpress or any developed solution, otherwise you have option for get idea from famous ongoing website and initiate in case-study, design and development. one thing more if you start development that will be costly and other solutions are cheap.

I recommend a wordpress solution to begin with, before you move onto a script like that, wordpress will be easier to work with if you are a beginner
