I had the Odyssey 2. I was always bummed I got that instead of an Atari 2600 or an Intellivision. Luckily, my friends had those.
I can't believe no-one liked the Sega Master System II!!! That console rocked! Great 2D graphics in all their 8-bit glory I've completed really complex games on next-gen consoles and PC, but I still can't complete Sonic 1 on the MS2!! Although I never had one, the NES is probably my favourite classic console. The mario titles were amazing!
Sonic by far - they were, and ARE amazing! SEGA MegaDrive just rocks.. In its 16 bit domination All SEGAs kick butt! (Dreamcast being their worst... ever)
I used to love C64, Ghostbusters, defender of the crown, hillsfar, summer olympiad, Sport of the kings. (remember the old Gianna Sisters- ripoff of Mario Bros?) also had Sega mastersystem and megadrive, playstation, N64... prefer the old C64 games though.
C64? Never used one of those mate, though the N64 and MegaDrive were a good choice of systems Beautes Chuckun
mastersystem and the atrai jaguar was so ahead of its time! 64 bit console when sega was making the megadrive. it was just too powerful for some. i love playing my atari 2600 aswell, yes, the origional 6 switch edition!
I'll always have a soft spot for my Sega Master System. RPGs like Govelius, Ys and Miracle Warriors meant I spent a lot of my childhood indoors
hehe kinda a bump I suppose, but also - I found a place in Cardiff, Wales that sells tonnes of classic console games - I baught about 50 MegaDrive games was great Finally, I got FIFA '96 and Pete Sampras Tennis again!!!
He probably wasn't even born yet. Lots of young ones here who never even seen the atari! C64 was the only machine I had back then, with tape drive, floppy drive and an okidata printer that I printed my school work on. All my money (after buying clothes) went to that. My friends had them or the c128 when it came out and one guy had the Amiga and he was the coolest of course.
I love the original NES. it's so much more fun then the new games today. All the console games today seem to be about graphics, but the game play isn't there as it was back in the day. I only liked a couple games on n64, such as perfect dark and blast corps, but thats all.
I wasn't much of a console guy back then as I had a C64 (and later Amigas). But as for consoles I must say the Sega Mega Drive and the early NHL games and Road Rash have a special place in my heart. I've picked up a couple of cheap retro consoles the last couple of years though, so I've got two NES (U.S. and European), two SNES (U.S. and European), two Mega Drives (the old version and the newer version), a Master System, a CDi, two Atari 2600 (the wooden one and a black plastic one), some Famicom-clones, a bunch of hand helds etc. Can't say I play them that often though, when it comes to retro gaming it's my C64 and Amiga that gets turned on.
