Where do you get your numbers from? I did some searching and nothing I came up with showed MSNBC being the 'worst rated news network' nor Olberman being the 'worst rated news show' on MSNBC much less all of the news shows.

In fact much of the stories show him having very good ratings considering..

    Nielsen Media Research

    O'Reilly Factor:

    Rating - 1.9
    Total Viewers - 2,350,000
    25-54 Demo - 490,000

That is because Keith Olbermann does have the #1 rated show on MSNBC with an 0.8 rating, with 877,000 total viewers, and 334,000 viewers in the 25 to 54 demo. I guess when you have the number one show on a network where you are competing with guys that have a 0.1 or less ratting by comparison, you would look pretty good...:rolleyes:

However, when you compare those numbers to O'Reilly, and other news casters on other networks... O'Reilly comes in dead last....

These numbers are as of April 2008 btw...

MSNBC ranks dead last amongst, CNN, FOX and other cable news networks... MSNBC claims it is not competing with these networks and that its competition is Headline News..

Headline News actually shows NEWS, not commentary. MSNBC is by far the most wacked out, nutjob, moonbat, liberal leftist network on cable.... If someone farted to the right in private in the Green Room, they'd be booted into the street in a heart beat.

The numbers I read shows MSNBC third in the list, numbers to show MSNBC in dead last? It's of course entirely possible that the numbers I read were old, that however still does not make Olbermann the worst of the worst, especially if he's #1 on his own network ;)

This new post of yours also is not what you claimed to start.

    Is far different than.
Fox news btw is nothing but biases right wing, 1/2 lies crap. That is the reason I stopped watching it, I can't believe people in this day and age would watch a station or program shown so many times to use fiction as 'fact'

I think the most of Bill O's viewers are all old aged pensioners that clearly love all of Bill O's BS.

No surprise to see Mia defending Bill O though lol!

I really have not idea as to why so many of the left-wing extremists hate Bill O'Reilly so vehemently. He is not one of the right wing extremists, as you guys portray him.

    1. Maybe it is because his views pretty much reflect common sense as seen by the majority of moderate Americans. That's why his show is so popular.

    2. Maybe it is because his Culture Warrior position is valid. American traditions that have worked well for a very long time and have helped to make this country a world leader are being rapidly eroded through political correctness, multi-culturalism, liberal media and liberal courts. This is clearly leading to the destruction of American values.

    3. Perhaps it is because he is one of the very few people who ask the tough questions when interviewing both conservatives and liberals. That's why most of the corrupt or misguided politicians do not have the guts to do an interview with him. They want to keep their dirty laundry hidden and don't really want to debate a sensitive issue. O'Reilly is a pretty tough interviewer. He doesn't win all of the arguments, but he does expose the hypocrisy of most of the politicians that he disagrees with.

    4. Perhaps it is because many of his viewpoints are based in patriotism. Patriotism of any form is clearly lacking in many of the participants of this forum.

I don't always agree with O'Reilly's viewpoints, but some of you guys should probably watch him once or twice in your lifetime instead of just attacking him blindly because it is the left-wing thing to do. You might actually like some of what he says.

There are many good reasons as to why his show is so popular and I have never seen any right-wing extremist viewpoints. Yeah, you will find some of those on Fox, but not on the O'Reilly Factor. His viewpoint appeals to a huge percentage of Americans.

That circa 1990 outtake is a lame way to attack the guy. And look at who drew attention to it. Olberman doesn't hold a candle to O'Reilly when it comes to facts or reporting standards. His reporting style reflects the same type of fabricated BS and distorted crap that you can hear on Air America radio whenever they are between bankruptcies. Just what I would expect from Olbermonkey.

He seems pretty center-right to me and I agree with probably at least half of what he says. I think it's just the way he blows hard that makes him seem more extreme, same with olbermann. They're both mainly just entertainers.

    Excellent point, fantastic post!!!

I really get a kick out of how people rip on O'Reilly as if there is a right wing O'Reilly night, where everyone on the conservative side of the isle sits around and watches him nightly...

The 2.3 million plus viewers out there watching him appear to be left wingers and people that can't stand him.

I'm not, nor have I ever been a big O'Reilly fan. I don't like his style, his butting in nature, and the noise level of his voice at times. What I do respect however is the fact that he is not swayed by one party or another, gives equal time to all guests and always asks tough, fair questions.

If anything I would say O'Reilly is left of center and more in line with a libertarian than anything else.

I guess that is one of the things I respect about that there Fox News... They seem to have everyone from every side of the spectrum on their news network, not just one liberal agenda.

Then again, most of the people that hate that there Fox News are again, the ones watching it...

    Ah the irony...

I have to agree with that... and the fact that he has a strong and sometimes confrontational style.

But I can't compare him at all to Olberman. Olberman's style is highly emotionally based, and almost to the point of being deranged. O'Reilly does get into shouting matches with people who disagree with him, but he always shows respect tor people who show him proper respect and he always tries to close a debate in a friendly manner.

Yeah, Bill and Keith are clearly not apples to apples. Olbermann is really out of his element if anything. He should go back to sports.

I will agree, Bill does close the debate on a friendly note, always gives his guests the last word, and really is fair and balanced..

Olbermann on the other hand screams and rants like a 2 year old throwing a temper tantrum. It's clear where his agenda and motives are....

You've probably seen him more than I... I'm neither a regular watcher, nor a big fan. I think I've made that abundantly clear. But you, being so new, probably never bothered to read the entire thread.

It never ceases to amaze me how off the wall people go about O'Reilly, when he does not even come close to representing the true values and ideals of your average Conservative. That's probably because he is not a Conservative.

Actually it is, I used to watch Fox religiously..
Oreilly I do not like as he has been proven time and time again to make up facts as he goes a long, acting like he knows more about a subject than the experts. While on air the experts try to correct him, only for him to be a loud mouth and interrupt them.

Only after the show will his distortions be brought about..

    It's sad really.

But the point is, O'Reilly is not a conservative, nor does he represent the core conservative values... He's pretty left of center.
