There is definitelly something wrong when an Advertising company shaves earnings off the monies marked towards the publishers (smartpricing) based on the notion that the click/visit was not "worthy". I'd like to know if Google adsense is an affiliate program or a means for site owners to advertise their sites/products or services, because if its an affiliate program then they should let US know the percentages paid out for EXAMPLE a HOSTING SIGN-UP, or an Approved Mortgage Application. Advertisers pay on the basis of impressions, Coca-Cola or McDonalds do not pay the TV stations on how many canned refreshments or burgers are sold after commercials are run, the payment is based on the impressions made on ones mind. Just as the original Adsense idea was supposed to have been, before they went public and the need to keep more money to themselves kicked in. The Do No Evil mantra is not followed by Google. Commission Junction has a CAL against them, can Google be next? please don't post this crap about "if you don't like it go to another..."
I fully disagree. Unlike TV and Radio advertising (which I have done in the past), Internet advertising which is click or action based can easily be tracked in terms of conversion. Advertisers know how well your ads perform, and can adjust keywords, hours, countries and prices as needed. The people that pay Google's and Adsense publishers' salaries are the advertisers. It's in the interest of everyone to keep these people coming back and paying for advertising. And personally I am against anything that has the word "suit" in it. Google is not just for Americans, and people use common sense outside of the US. If you don't like something, just use something else. Google is not a government agency, and owes you nothing.
Not all Americans are sue happy, I for one like how Google ads are set up. Yes I would love to get paid per impression, but as an advertiser also I don't want to pay for stumble traffic or other types of there for 2 second traffic. Paying per click makes sense to me. So, no I don't think that Google will be sued next, at least not because of their adsense program.
I'm with you and I don't understand why people keeps on complaining when the majority is on success.... I don't see any problem with adsense as long as you are following the TOS... and whatever problems advertisers may encounter, google act fast.. I don't like people who are always seeking loopholes for nothing... Peace!!
Look at it though the eyes of google, what if a Warez site added a pay per impression banner? Google would lose a lot as people could be forced to click the link, its against the rules of Google I know, but Warez isn't exactly legal either is it?
I like the pay-per-click platform. With PPC, it means that people who click my ads are truly potential clients or buyers. In the first place, they wouldn't click my ad if it weren't of interest to them. As for pay-per-impression, it's much harder to compute one's potential revenue or percentage of conversion based on number of visitors and the page they visited.
