Clarification on Keywords

I admit I'm a bit of an Adsense newbie, but I've come here with some stupid questions in the past and received great help, so I figured I'd give it another go.

I see people saying that choosing the right keywords for your ad is important, but I don't know how to apply these keywords! I run a website where I'd like to show ads not related completely to the site content; however, I know that the keywords I do want would be of even more interest to my visitors.

How do I apply the keywords I want? Do I simply set the keywords meta tag accordingly? I'm not sure how to do this. :)

    Thanks!

Title, Meta keywords, description and your page content define what ad google will display on your site.

    ugly said it all :D

another important tip: if anyone tells you to stuff keywords to get relevant ads. DONT listen to them, its against TOS to cloak keywords.
