Rules Clarification needed over what constitutes a duplicate post

There has been some discussion recently in the content creation forum over what constitues a duplicate post. Just wanted to check what the offical rules were as as the rules page wasnt to clear.

Take me for example. When I'm looking for clients I will post once every 3-4 days over a two week period because this is the only way to get clients. I know many other writers do the same. Is this technically illegal and do I risk a 5 point infraction when I do? The posts are offering the same service but I have never been told off in the past for doing so.

At the moment I'm petrified off getting another infraction as I am already sitting on 5 points for disscusing how to get twitter followers (something I now know is against the rules). I was in the wrong then and I accept that however I now want to avoid being banned by accident :( .

Another example is If I now want to offer a speacial promotion where I offer my services for a reduced rate, am I able to do so or does the fact Ive already posted in content creation prevent me from doing so?

Any clarification would be most appreciated.

    James

Duplicate threads offering the same service is never allowed. If you want to change details about your offering, use the Bump option (it also allows you to edit).
