Can I get some clarification on what is and what is not okay to post when replying to WTB threads.

At the moment I feel like you are not allowed to reply at all?

I know replying with PM sent isnt allowed, right? Even though I see it all the time, but I never do go back to see if that reply was deleted or not.

    Anyway...

I replied to this WTB thread:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1680640

It does not say to PM him so I replied to the thread with my offer and it was deleted.

Now I see a similar thread with a bunch of replies and I wonder if the mods just have not gotten to this thread yet or are all these replies okay? If they are okay what was wrong with my reply?

You may never respond in a thread with an offer, to say you're interested, to tell someone to PM you, or to say you've PMd them. The OP does not have to tell you to PM them. The rule is that if you're interested, that's what you need to do.

The only appropriate posts to make in someone else's BST thread are:

    1. To ask questions relevant to everyone (and not questions like "what's the URL?" when the OP clearly chose to leave it out of the public thread, and not questions already asked by others).

    2. To leave a deal review after completing a deal based on that thread.

    I knew all of this:
to say you're interested, to tell someone to PM you, or to say you've PMd them

    It seems like:
    an offer

Is rampant in the BST categories as almost every thread has a reply that is an offer.

Sorry for adding to the mess, will limit postings to questions. It IS just hard to tell what is allowed and not when you see so much of it already going on, like I said in pretty much every thread... Is what you replied to my post with stickied somewhere cause it is much easier to understand knowing what is allowed with those examples.

The only safe rule is to read the rules and never do something just because you see others doing it. On a forum this large it's impossible for us to see everything. What I posted is included in the FAQ / Rules, and it's likely also in the allowed / not allowed sticky. There are rule reminder stickies both in this section and in BST, but people don't read them.
