Sorry for what might be a terribly newbie question to ask but I've had a look through old threads and couldn't find the answer so be gentle with me Most of my sites are UK based and attract almost exclusively UK traffic. However over the last couple of months I've been working on some global sites with one or two aimed more at the US market. I've applied to a couple of US affiliates through CJ and been declined even though the sites meet their product set brilliantly. Is this because the majority of my sites are UK based do you think? Do other people have difficulty getting affiliates from outside of their country? Any help would be gratefully received
Some merchants stupidly set their programs to auto-reject non-US affiliates. Even though the UK has lots of top affiliates. Typically if you email the affiliate manager and request to join and explain why your site is a good fit you will get in.
OK. Thanks for the advice. It does seem strange that they auto-reject but, I guess, they're bombarded with requests and see geography as being a good filter tool. I'll take your advice on board and reapply to the affiliate managers of the companies in question.
