Hi, guys, I have signed with CJ long time ago, and I tried to put several affi banner on my site, but it with couple of months, I made nothing at all. So I decided to take all those banners out, since I have no clue whether the guy I linked there really signed on or bought something or did those couple of days later. Can someone convince me it really works and share some tricks with us? I might give it a try again. I am currently using Adbrite, at least I can see those clicks and the earning is adding up.
Adbrite sucks for ppc, u want people buying your ads for them i think..anyway cj is good. its free to join then publisheres will review ur site n accept /decline you...i got paid on the 15th which is nice and early and i make a good amount...definitely recommened.
When you say your site is reviewed, what kind of site are they looking for? In what way is CJ different from adsense?
it depends what advertiser u use, like lawyer affiliate woudl want lawyers site.....cj uses commission on products, like someone uses ur link to buy something on ebay u get a small chunk of the money to ebay....adsense uses clicks
Still didn't get convinced to use CJ, my site is a free image/photo editor site. I would like to put some related AD there instead of law office.
well obviously if ur site wasnt about law ..... if urs is image/photo then you would use a photo affiliable like myphotobook..
Unlike Adsense CJ requires some patience. During Janurary and February I gave them an unreal amount of impressions. I was ready to pull the ads, since I hadn't made a single sale, when March came around and the sales started to happen one after another. You need to be able to wait things out with CJ and take your data over a long period of time.
If you want to make money with CJ, you need real quality traffic. You need to get visitors who are ready to buy something. You can get thousands of visitors a day, but if they aren't ready to buy, it's useless. It's all about converting your clicks into sales.
steveb, you are right, it is really important to have traffic user who has $$ in their pocket. However, most user didn't go buy anything the first time, there will just do some research on that site until they are comfortable. Most of time, they will come back again to purchase. Now the problem is you lost your share since the action isn't direct result from the ad in your site. So I am thinking the CPM is more reasonable for publisher. advertiser need to estimate how much your web ad space worth and make a bid. That is why I like how adbrite works.
That's not true. All programs at CJ come with cookie tracking, ranging from 10 days all the way up to 3 months. So, if the customer decides to buy later, you can still get credit for it, as long as the customer hasn't disabled or deleted their cookies.
I agree. It all comes down to targeting CONSUMERS. It doesn't matter if they're not buying what you're pushing, as long as they take your cookie with them (e.g eBay) - they're probably going to buy something within a few days anyway. You've just gotta hope they don't visit some other CJ affiliate site that will overwrite your cookie.
thanks for clearify the CJ cookies, I need to verify those by myself though. If it is true, then I think I should give it a try again and invest more time to find the best affiliate product
CJ has lots of potential. you just have to find the perfect mix of programs, then promote them efficiently. Sometimes it just takes time.
