CJ Raising Minimum Payouts to 100 dollars - You have to see the reasons why

I got an email about 5 minutes ago from CJ saying that they are raising their US payout mins. to $100 for check and $50.00 for direct deposit. They are raising all of their international payouts too.

That really bugs me, but what really upsets me is their lame reasons for doing it:

Why Is Commission Junction Making This Change?

    1. To streamline our publisher payment process.
    2. To offer publishers an incentive to switch to direct deposit because paper checks are less efficient, more costly and slower than the electronic option.
    3. To drastically cut down on paper consumption and better support environmentally conscious commerce.
    4. To better align our process with the industry because our minimum commission threshold to receive payment is, almost without exception, far below the current standard.

    Lower paper consumtion, yeah right.

SO, DP'ers, how is this going to effect you? I'd like to hear what you think.

They forget to add this reason:

Too keep more of our money longer...

There environmental criteria would be okay, if they were increasing the limit for checks and not for direct deposit.

With the recent loss of eBay from the CJ network, there will be months where I will not make the minimum $50 for electronic payment - I consistently make, at least, $25 from affiliate sales, but eBay was a consistent additional source of revenue (and still is with EPN). So I can see months ahead without a CJ payment coming in.

On the other hand, they are cutting their costs and trying to improve their ability to survive. I do want them to survive! :D

    Hello,
It is ok $100 is not too much for a check. No big deal for me. Of course if we need to live with less of 100 it is a big problem :(

    Best,

The only reason I don't get is to streamline publisher payments. Unless that means "being able to pay out faster to publishers" then this is garbage to me. But then again, I'm averaging over $300 a month from them anyway and I'm on direct deposit so I'm fine :)

Aldouspi, I'm with you. When ebay was with CJ, there was no problem meeting the minimum. Now, it's a different story.

Last two posters mentioned that this was no problem since they are above the mins - what are you two promoting that's earning on CJ for you?

^^ Here's a rare idea, why doesn't someone start a website petitioning for eBay to join the CJ network once again. After all, they've went with pepperjamNetwork because of the downfall with their own in-house program.

Maybe if eBay see's enough people, they'll consider it. Just a recommendation...

you really should be making more than $100 in a month thats like $3 per day.

For most people this wont be of any effect.

I don't care about the minimum payout increase but point 2 is quite inadequate.
They push the publishers to switch to direct deposit and at the same time this option is available only in a few countries.
