What have you tried, what is your websites subject content about? For CJ you need to have companies with a product or service related to your site dot them around your site within the content unique content ideally of course and see what happens.
Hello, I am actually new as well, however I have been learning a lot especially from this forum. A developer talked to me about these important steps for search engine optimization. What type of website do you have? Informative, E Commerce, Community Based? Please note: Some of the information listed may not be as accurate as getting advice from a professional marketer. I am also still learning. These are tips that I have read about online, as well as used while getting my websites page rank in Alexa from 4 million to the top 200,000 websites. I'm sure some of the things in my list do work, however I would also read what others in this forum say, "there are a lot of pros here that have better advice!" Thank you ; 1.) Content on your site Use relevant key words, well written, active voice, (I am more focused on how the writing is done more so than the search engine aspect. Give clients really good information, or links to further information. 2). Offer something for free, such as a weekly newsletter, which helps to build up a client email list or develop an E-zine/E-Book for download. 3). Have a guest book where visitors can sign/exclude the ability to list HTML in comments to avoid spamming. 4). Hire an SEO company to optimize your websites meta-tags, site maps, index ex etc. 5). 1 Paid Directory Submission: Have your website listed into one paying search directory. I am not sure which one, or how effective this is. Yahoo's Search Directory appears to be one of many good ones. 6). Beware of Link Farms! Companies offering to submit your site into 312,000 search engines and directories. I did this and most of the sites being submitted to were FFA, Free For All search directories pr ( 0-1) link farms. I got rather messed up with the 123 Submit Pros Company. BEWARE of this Company folks! 7). Editing Text: Have someone review all of the content on your site/blogs for editing issues, typos etc.. 8). Site Maps: (?) Some have told me that incorporate an Google & Yahoo site map on the website is helpful. Some companies charge for this but if you are developer or have one maintaining your site you can have them go to Google or Yahoo's Developer Pages for the code free. 9.) Press releases, there are hundreds of press release places to submit to. If you need help writing one of those, I could help. I am more of the writer/researcher than an Internet marketer. 10.) Lazy URL website has a list of bookmarking websites, search engines and places to submit your articles. Look for the link that says: Do it Free or SEO free. The links are there! 11). Create Bookmarks: When bookmarking your website in places such as the ones listed, include bookmarks for other websites as well, this will help you from being spammed from the bookmarking places. If you only bookmark your website, you may be your site black listed. (This is what I read on Simpy Recently). Some of the bookmarking websites have the "no-follow" rule, however what I discovered is that even places that use the "no-follow" your website can still have a link. I could be wrong here, but my website showed up after book marking with a site that said they used the "No-Follow" rule. Create a blog on places like Blogger My Space 13. Offer help with topicsrelating to the product or service used on your website. 14. List your blog in blog directories. When customers find your blog, verses the business, they will be getting information for free and click on the link to your business to check it out. 15. Get a good stats program like AWStats to check on issues of: how users find your site. The AWStats program is something we use and its fantastic! We can tell which visitors go where on the site, how often they visit, which countries find us, the external links, what key words are used most to find us, (organic traffic), and it also shows each month/stats. This is an invaluable product for all online business owners. "In my personal opinion." 16. Register for a Google Account Create a group in MSN, or Yahoo 17. Create an OPEN ID to help save time and frustation when creating many accounts online. It helps to prevent forgot passwords also. 18. Get a new email account--to use when submitting your website to directories, and creating other membership accounts for social bookmarking etc..NOTE: some directories ask for a non-yahoo/hotmail address. JUST AN FYI. I hope some of my tips are somewhat helpful. Please do not quote me on any of this as, I am a newbie myself, and although I have learned a great deal, I have many questions of my own about search engine optimization. Thanks for posting, and Good luck with your business I'll definitely come and check it out. Thats one more unique visitor!
One thing I learned from Wealthy Affiliate is this... use CTA's (Call-To-Actions) ... if you use this, then you'll be requesting some action/interaction between you and your visitors and will lure them to click something.
Wow Litwriter21 thats a heck of a list for a newbie. I suggest CJU and keep everything relevant Start with blogs and work your way to websites and landing pages then PPC\ Hard to compete with that list
