CJ HTML Links and Joomla!

Okay so I used to use JavaScript links but lately I've been using HTML links for a certain reason and my Joomla! CMS likes to change the links up a little bit.

The original code looks like the following:
    <a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-2398576-10475410">Dell Dimension C521 for $399!</a>
    <img src="http://www.ftjcfx.com/image-2398576-10475410" width="1" height="1" border="0"/>
    HTML:
But when I put it into Joomla! it turns it into this:
    <a href="http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-2398576-10475410" mce_href="http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-2398576-10475410">Dell Dimension C521 for $399!</a>
    HTML:
    Now for my question:

Is this going to affect the tracking? Will I lose commission because of this?

Also... I am putting these links in blog posts. If I posted one CJ link in every blog post, is that going to mess up my search engine rankings at all?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

The Joomla href is the correct affiliate URI, so you should
not lose commission. You are missing the 1 x 1 pixel, which
tracks impression but is not essential.

Not sure if affiliate links affect rankings, but it is common,
and probably safer, to hide the links behind PHP or JavaScript.
Search this forum for the code.

    Good luck,
    Ty

I agree with tkroll. I've had a lot of experience with CJ and Joomla. Feel free to PM if you have any questions or issues with Joomla I know it's hard to find help at first.

I am using a php redirect in Joomla for my afiliate links. I don't believe it is possible to use the img tag in a location: www.address.com correct? So if I can't use it in a redirect, I'm still cool right?

Also, how important is the cjsku tag? I can actually implement that but it varies a little by site and would make my life easier if I didn't need to worry about it.

    Thanks in advance guys! :D

I just stopped worrying about the img attribute and just use the links now "http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-2398576-10475410"

I am also using a redirect. I just drop the links into the redirect.

I'm not really sure how important the CJSKU is but it doesn't seem to harm anything so I use it anyway.

Btw... using the links without the img doesn't cause any problems. I am still getting my commission. It just has something to do with tracking stuff... I'm not sure exactly what it does but it's not very important to me.

Yeah, don't worry about the 1x1 pixel - it's only for merchants to track impressions, but it's pretty useless because of all the PPC affiliates & deal sites.

As for the CJSKU, some merchants may track this (shows which product a person came in on, may be necessary for showing a confirmation pixel with some merchants when using Product Catalog links) - others will just ignore the CJSKU field, though. Contact the merchant directly & they should be able to sort it out for you.
