CJ Earnings > eBay Earnings

I suppose it's still early, but this is disheartening to read, seems most people are experiencing this. I was really hoping the ebay program would be better, hopefully it will improve in time. Anyone else disappointed in the lack of banner ads on ebays program? They had a lot more to choose from on cj.

 

So far it seems things are right on par with where we were with CJ.

 

Wish I could say the same.....I definitely think eBay has a tracking problem as every single link of mine has been tested and is working, but not one single sale since the switch over. In fact, I am still waiting on questions to be answered way back in March and the only response from support has been the usual "canned" response which is info from FAQ which I have read a bazillion times. Hope they get everything straightened out before the end of April (makes one wonder if sales will magically appear on May 1 which would be too late for the 5% bonus???)

Oh well......back to work on more SEO for my sites.

 

I think people are falling into three camps.

First camp.
People not seeing impressions / clicks and NO earnings. This is usually due to invalid campid or some other broken variable or value in the link.

Second camp.
People ARE seeing impressions / clicks but very low earnings compared to CJ. Seeing clicks and impressions should indicate that rover links are created/formatted properly and tracking is good, yet sales are down

Third camp.
People are seeing impressions / clicks and earnings are the same or above what they received at CJ

I, myself, am in the second camp. My earnings are massively down, yet I'm seeing plenty of clicks (2000+ since migration -- which is normal click count compared to CJ), but sales are 10x less than where I'm should normally be at this time. I am receiving commissions though.. which is a 'good' sign I guess.

The only thing that makes me hopeful, is eBay's track record with 'make good'. Hopefully, they're seeing a tracking issue on the winning bid handling or something.. and will correct it.

To me.. all this does is enforce that we need to diversify as much as possible to help cover 'issues' like this.

I'm beating CJ earnings by far...it will hurt once the month is over and the 5% bonus is gone, though.

 

how much are you beating CJ by? are there any other details you can give?

 

How long will eBay be using CJ? Have they come up with a deadline yet?

ebay很霸道的，看他们在中国用paypal就知道了。不过比较安全，哈哈。至少你收款会有保障。不过。。。你们国外就一家ebay独大，不像我们taobao，和他竞争呢。

 

I'm in the "2nd Camp" too

My CJ eBay EPC was $21, my ePN EPC is $8.01. There should be absolutely NO reason my sales should dive, other than poor tracking on ePN. I even have above normal visitors -- some of my pages are doing better in the SE's.

I use adwords (about $10-11/day) and get organic traffic.

I'm going to let adwords run a week or so more -- if things don't get better, I'll kill the adwords.

I truly hope they "fix" what needs fixing!

 

Ha, this thread helped me out! My click-through seemed to have got much worse Now that was something I really couldn't blame EPN for, but at the same time couldn't figure out why I was getting loads of traffic (for me, anyway), but no click-through.

Turns out I had put the wrong stats code in my own code when I migrated, and it was nothing to do with EPN - they WERE tracking my clicks fine! Duh! All better now

 

Even accounting for the lack of 7 days of cookie backlog at the beginning of the month my sales since switching over have been down. I'm averaging about 300 or so clicks per day and my sales are about 50% of where I was last month with CJ. I'm not happy about the switch but what are you going to do?

Hopefully things will improve next month.

 

I'm sorry but what is "ePN EPC"?

I've never seen those two acronyms together.

 

Epn = Ebay Partner Network
Epc= Estimate Per Click I believe

 

ePN = eBay Partner Network
EPC = Earnings Per 100 Clicks

 

ebay has done such a great job marketing their site that nobody needs to discover it on another site, if they want to buy something from there then they will simply just type in the short well known domain and go from there

 

In the first 16 days of moving to ePN i have made a third of what i made from CJ in 7 months !! Im delighted, just hope it keeps up !

 

Ah! Now I see. I'm just seeing more and more money from my eBay activities show up through magic in my bank account every month. I didn't know that was the case. I think I'll go and do some more of that mumbo jumbo and see if it fattens my account even more. In magic, more is better. Right?
