Well, for the second time, I find my account deactivated. Not that CJ will bother me by answering a question that us pee-ons dare ask, I can only assume the reason for deactivation is lack of sales. So lets see, they deactivate my account, and my only notification comes when I try to log-on to my CJ account, which fails (niiiiice!). So my links would otherwise stay active and referring traffic until I become aware of this. Answer me this - What happens to the commissions for deactivated accounts? Embezzlers - that's what they are! Common thugs with a scam to rip people off at every chance they get. Commissionjunction.com - Thief! Oh, and by the way - in case CJ hasn't heard the latest brilliant news, affiliate marketing is all about pre-selling. Given this golden nugget of information I suppose the CJ drones will start deactivating advertisers that don't convert all the traffic I send their way. Excuse me while I hold my breath. Make no mistake about it. CJ has violated my terms-of-service which is legally actionable on it's own. But I have also spent many hours debugging their broken web-services for them - spoon feeding their developers the obvious - and this is how I am repaid. Amazon may not pay much, but at least they are not thief's, and their web services actually WORK! - I suggest you turkeys take this to heart. P.S. - CJ legal department - Don't bother contacting my people. My people will contact you. You will receive my bill for engineering and debugging in a few days. If, however you have a free hand, and feel the need to tug on something, I'm really really easy to find, and I can always use the publicity.
Accounts are deactivated after ... 6 months .. I believe of inactivity. If you don't continue with sales, the money generated will go back to the advertiser. Google does it the same way...that's just the way it works.
This is part of cj's service agreement for affiliates: Dormant Accounts. If Publisher's Account has not been credited with a valid, compensable Transaction that has not been Charged-back during any rolling, six consecutive calendar month period (“Dormant Accountâ€), a dormant account fee at CJ's then-current rate shall be applied to Publisher's Account each calendar month that Publisher's Account remains an open yet Dormant Account or until Your Account balance reaches a zero balance, at which time the Account shall become deactivated. Transactions will not be counted if the Transaction subsequently becomes a Charge-back. Looks like those of us who got deactivated will have to reapply again, what a waste of time!
Ah, so if I read that right > a dormant account fee at CJ's then-current rate shall be applied to > Publisher's Account each calendar month that Publisher's Account > remains an open yet Dormant Account or until Your Account > balance reaches a zero balance then I guess I had this right all along - they are free to 'abscond with' money that I've already made - that's even worse! Come to think of it, that's how banks work too isn't it. Now here's big the question. Suppose someone who is unsuccessful gaining a sale in his niche for the first 6 months - can he deposit some money for CJ to 'abscond' instead of canceling his account? That way, I don't have to change all of my links in lieu of their web services actually working!!! Woo hooo! I've solved the problem!
