CJ, BANS, eBay, ProStores

Sorry - another newbie question. I get that the following are all related, but am struggling to draw the link. Can you enlighten me?

So, a BANS store generally advertises eBay products. That makes sense.
Are the commissions paid by CJ, and eBay is the Advtertiser?
I've seen prostores mentioned a bit around here. How do they fit into the equation?

Yes, I've done a little googling, but without the basic context it is a tad complicated!

    :)

no, they used to be a couple of months ago but now ebay has gone on its own with EPN (ebay partner network). to be an ebay affiliate now you need to join epn and epn/ebay will pay you (hopefully) ;)

If you are already using CJ for ebay. You may want to stay with CJ until the end of May. ePN is or seems to be having a few major/minor issues.

BANS is a template based store for eBay. And as already stated eBay is dropping CJ. I can tell you a poor man's way of doing a BANS type page if you PM me.

EPN will be paying you the commission.
With BANS, you can only build eBay affiliate website. However, it never hurts to put up adsense and other affiliate links.

I am not a computer or programming whiz, so it takes a little time to figure all of this out.

Go to the link in my signature to understand BANS more completely, when your there click on the page "affiliate programs," that may help.

Basically, eBay is the advertiser and it pays you the commission. CJ is a 3rd party administrator that handles eBay and other companies' affiliate programs.

Beginning April 1, eBay started handling its own affiliate program, tracking, link generation, etc. (ie, the functions that CJ used to perform for them). It is my understanding that until the end of this month (May) the links in both CJ and EPN (the eBay Partner Network) are working and will generate commissions. If you have eBay links through CJ, you need to change over to EPN.

    As far as payment,
    - eBay affiliate sales with CJ links through the end of May will come from CJ
    - If you have an affiliate relationship with any company still administered by CJ, you will get a check from CJ.
    - Once you switch to EPN or after June 1 all commissions with eBay affiliate program will come from EPN.

EPN pays you commission based on sign up and revenue shares.

I highly recommend that you join EPN as eBay affiliate offers convert pretty well.
