The twelve of us who actually watched the state of the union voluntarily saw that Cindy Sheehan was arrested while attending. They announced she had layed out a banner and refused to remove it on CNN and on MSNBC and ABC. As it turns out, they didn't like her T-Shirt - at least according to a CNN blurb I just saw. According to the report, she is now facing up to a year in prison for the misdemeanor she is charged with. So here's the question for the board - Will this be: a) blamed on an overzealous someone (staffer, agent, policeman, etc.) b) be used to paint Cindy Sheehan as some sort of peacemongering devil-woman c) fade into a non-news item because she hasn't made headlines in months and then will she be: a) convicted of a crime. b) never be charged. c) plead guilty to a lesser crime in order to obtain a light sentence d) be proclaimed innocent of any wrong doing.
"b) be used to paint Cindy Sheehan as some sort of peacemongering devil-woman" Has turned into a "peacemongering devil-woman media whore" like so many of the current so called "civil rights activists". Please go back to Venezuela and stay with your socialist dictator friend. IMHO
I don't know about the first one but I can't see her ever being charged. If anything, that would just raise the profile and give her a new cause and new support. Heres the story by the way http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/02/01/D8FG6GQG2.html
I think it will probably go down along the same lines as when an 82 year-old Labour Party member was man-handled out of the Labour party conference and prevented from re-entering the building by Police using AntiTerrorism Laws for 'heckling' the Foreign Secretary in the UK last year. His act of 'terror' was to shout 'Nonsense' when Jack Straw, the Foreign Secretary was (bullshitting -- sorry, that's not true - he wasn't bullshitting) making his speech, about Iraq.
I really feel sorry for this lady. This is just a nut case that has been taken advantage of by other nut cases. For those that don't know, Cindy Sheehan is the nut case who has been running around the country under the direction of Mikey Moore and other nut jobs disgracing her son's memory in a continued, but failed effort to portray our president has evil. Apparently the nut ball got kicked out of the House Chamber prior to the State of the Union address last night for BREAKING THE LAW. Just look at her statement below: "I have some lawyers looking into filing a First Amendment lawsuit against the government for what happened tonight," the message read. "I will file it. It is time to take our freedoms and our country back." (posted on the Mikey Moore nut ball web site) This "First Amendment" violation she is referring to stems from the fact that she was asked politely several times to cover up an offensive t-shirt she wore to the event. Asking her to remove the shirt, or cover it up, or just plain removing this nutty excuse for a human being from the chamber is not a violation of her 1st Amendment rights. "House rules bar demonstrations in the galleries." I think that pretty much says it all. In fact, the wife of Senator in the chamber was also removed for not covering up a "Support Our Troops" t-shirt. So it looks like the "House Rules", work equally on both sides. I don't hear Mrs. Bill Young screaming like a lunatic nut job, nor did I see her run to Mikey Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" web site to post her ding bat drivel. The women broke the law, fair and simple. What she did was not only illegal, it was in poor taste. Even if it were ok to demonstrate in galleries, it is still in poor taste. It is completely and utterly disrespectful of her to do such a thing at such an event. In contrast, imagine I was invited to the Clinton's State of Illusions Address and wore a "I Chocked Monica" T-shirt. While funny, it would be in poor taste, and disrespectful. 1st Amendment aside, it would be wrong. I really feel sorry for this women. Instead of honoring her son's memory and saluting his courage and patriotism, she has gone completely mad, drove her husband and other family members away, and frankly is starting to look like Al Frankin. God help this women. I pray for you daily nutty Cindy.
Yeah man, all people that oppose Bush should be put before a firing squad, they can't be true to the call of Nixon like that!
Anthoy, do you also think that President Bush and the NSA are listening to your calls to aunt sally? Or do you think its just illegal for them to listen to calls from terroists that are trying to kill my friends, family and neighbors without a warrant? Cindy Sheenan shouldn't of been there in the first place, the congresswomen that invited her should be banished (1st amendment right ) for inviting a nut case like that to such a respectful event.
obsession ob·ses·sion (É™b-sÄ•sh'É™n, Åb-) pronunciation n. 1. Compulsive preoccupation with a fixed idea or an unwanted feeling or emotion, often accompanied by symptoms of anxiety. 2. A compulsive, often unreasonable idea or emotion.
It's a free country, she lost her Son to an oil war to make fat pigs rich, screw those bastards, she can do whatever she wants to do! http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=exxon+record+corporate+profits&btnG=Google+Search If not for the Vietnam protesters who were right about the government then, many thousands of our men and women and those on the other side would have been slaughtered in a worthless war!
For once I am with you AC. I have no comment on the political views, just feel the government is pulling the wool over our eyes. I dont get when disagreeing with the government made you a traitor. The point of protest is to make a public statement of your views. What better way to make your point and show your conviction than be peacefuly arrested for it. [edited] sorry clicked save before I proofed it...
You are right.. It is a "FREE COUNTRY".... So let's not go off on how we are losing freedoms, or how this women had her rights violated. The point is, she did not have her rights violated. I think she should protest all day long, any time she wants... I could care less, that is her right, and I completely respect that. However, the places she chooses to make her presence known, are simply not appropriate, and do nothing to better her cause. Why can't she spend time helping families who have also lost love ones adjust? Why can't she adopt a military son over in Iraq, or anywhere in the world for that matter and send him some cookies, and say, thank you.... Thank God for you! Instead she chooses to act lut a nut. You have no idea what you are talking about with regard to Vietnam, and I doubt you really want to go down that road. Nixon who you previously bashed got us all out of that mess created by non other than the left. Ironic, don't ya think. Anyway, back on topic, I really wish that Sheehan would concentrate on helping, rather than acting like a complete idiot. Again, she is not doing any good at this point. The only thing she is accomplishing is another 15 minutes of fame.
I hear she is running for office Mia PS: Yeah Nixon is a great guy alright....Watergate Election fraud.... Back on topic, go ahead and slander this woman Mia.....
Welcome to the wonderful world of "left logic". ox·y·mo·ron Audio pronunciation of "oxymoron" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (ks-môrn, -mr-) n. pl. ox·y·mo·ra (-môr, -mr) or ox·y·mo·rons A rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined, as in a deafening silence and a mournful optimist, or how about left logic, liberal logic, intelligent democrat.
Hey, it's a free country... Teddy made it. Yawn... slan·der Audio pronunciation of "slander" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (slndr) n. 1. Law. Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation. 2. A false and malicious statement or report about someone. Hmmm... I highly doubt anything little ole me says on the DP forum is gonna really injure her reputation as a nut case. What's false about stating the truth? Nothing malicious here...
Figures someone like you who is clueless and a bias Republican propagandist would agree with the clueless Mia, that is par for the course for you... I think you better PM Will Spencer and GTech because I got something for all of you...... PS: I agree Mia, I have always thought you were insane!
It is a free country, anthonycea, and we all have the freedoms to make decisions. Her son made the decision to join the military and knew he may be called for duty and actually fight in a war when he enlisted into the service. Save the crybaby, "Fat Pigs" speech for the redwoods and the spotted owls because history should teach you about the golden rule, it has always been that way, and will always be that way - Crying about it creates no avenue for change. IMHO.
I'm flattered, but homey don't play dat There are some guys here that do, if you are into that sort of thing. She is a nutcase Mia! Looks like she's been getting a little on the side. Ewww! You are the company you keep.
