Seriously though I agree with the sentiment, although I am afraid protesting people like these gives them the fuel to recruit new members and feel more righteous.

 

The only recruits besides their offspring from incest is abandoned klansmen. So, don't expect their group to get too big. I think they are up for the darwin award as well.

I have always had a romantic notion of shooting all the stupid people, the only problem is there are too many people smarter than me.

 

Shows wisdom to admit you aren't the smartest person in the world.

What wouldn't surprise me about these nuts, is if they found out they were all molesting the children in their group. The lady that is their mouthpiece, in my opinion, is possessed. Freaky people to say the least.

I hope they get their kids taken away and raised in a home with love instead of hatred.

The law should be changed to prevent them. When someone lacks the decency to prevent themselves behaving abhorrently the law needs to do it.

It comes down to where do their rights end and someone else's begin, And their rights should end at their own front door.

People spend too much time defending the "rights" of complete scum and forget entirely about the right of a family to say a final goodbye to a loved one in peace.

 

Actually, that's not true.

The right of free speech is not absolute, because intrinsic to that right is that the intended audience must be free to stay or leave, at will. To select a funeral at which to mount their filth is to select, as it were, a captive audience, who must choose whether to endure the baleful taunts of this assholes, foregoing their own right to peaceably grieve, or abandon a deceased love one to assholes. Clear choice, and these protests are an illegal intrusion on the rights of others.

They have fallen afoul, too, of the "fighting words" doctrine, an additional curb to unlimited "free speech."

Courts have sided with the families, for good reason, and so this group of animals has found itself increasingly in legal hot water (with mounting judgments bringing them to the precipice of financial ruin). I cannot wait until their collective throats are finally choked, in a legal sense.

Yes, it's the same group. I mentioned it above. They have increasingly faced legal challenges to their actions, and they have resoundingly lost, for the reasons I discuss above: "Free speech" isn't absolute, and on grounds of obstruction (the right of the grieving to unhamperedly grieve at their private event) and "fighting words" (these assholes' subhuman tactics are deemed "incitements to violence" under a "reasonable persons" standard, and so their tactics are not protected "free speech"), Phelps and his evil minions will simply be assessed judgments into bankruptcy.

 

Since Obama & his family have Secret Service protection, I expect the Secret Service to tell the local police to keep these people FAR AWAY from the funeral at all stages of the ceremony. They never hesitated to keep protesters far away from Bush & Cheney.
