As a new owner of ChromeHelpForums.com you'll have a chance at a foothold in what is still expected to be an unraveling market. Chrome web browser is still growing in popularity and Chrome OS is yet to be released late this year and already generates quite a buzz.

With a bit of work on marketing and community building this forum has a potential to become one of the big ones. And to back that up consider that it already ranks third for "chrome help" search term. In fact the first two results are from Google itself so this might as well be counted as the number one result.

The number of searches for "chrome help" is gradually growing and will probably accelerate as Chrome OS comes out this year.

The domain name makes keeping this favorable position for the "chrome help" search term easier as it has it in the name which also makes it very clear to the user and has an official sounding name.

Finally, I would like to note that despite having not done much in terms of marketing, albeit I wrote an entire article that was published across some Linux news sites, the forum kept growing and now has 27 members of which most are introduced and have begun posting. Lack of time prevented me from very active engagement, but I imagine you could stir quite a bit of activity very quickly with this convenient starting influx of new members.

I believe new members are coming simply because they find the site through the above mentioned article or the "chrome help" search term which you can expect to continue.

    To recap the facts:

    1. Relevant, official sounding, keyword filled name: ChromeHelpForums.com.
    2. Third search result for "chrome help" (right after google's own results)
    3. Growing interest in Chrome web browser and upcoming Chrome OS.
    4. Number of members and posters is already growing by itself. With some more engagement the process can be accelerated.
    5. Clean search engine friendly URL's enabled.
    6. Pleasing design using colors easily associated with Chrome browser and OS.
    7. Already at PR2 and with some traffic to start with.

    Sounds good?

    I welcome your bids!

Have you had any spammers hit the boards? Is the boards secure to your knowledge?
I've had this problem with some of my boards.

There wasn't an influx of spam on the site. Most users just have something in their signature so I suppose some of them could be there just to promote their link, but not all, and they add up to the activity of the forum which at the beginning is very important. There was nobody blatantly posting links though.

There is the akismet plugin installed which should take care of much of the spam. It's usually used with wordpress blogs and works very well. The forum used is MyBB which is quite good. The user experience is I think comparable to IPB and vB.

Yes, I'd provide a package with everything in it (mybb files, mysql export). The domain transfer to godaddy has a fee though. Last time I did it, it was $7.17. Domain is currently on namecheap.com.
