The fact that it's not would mean you will be kept in the Dark Ages.

The real problem is people are looking at this version as a final product and trying to compare it to the others. It is version 0.2.

But that's not the point and that's not what makes Chrome somewhat historical. The whole celebration is about showing what a browser can do to make the web better to use and easier to code for. It's there to push other browser vendors to improve theirs, lest they be pointed at as inferior and having fallen behind. The push is helped along by Google freely supplying the code for the browser to anyone who wants to use it. They even encourage others to use it as they see fit.

They like to say Chrome is a "reference browser" that others can measure up to. Maybe no in features, widgets and flashy/blinky lights, but in capabilities such as javascript performance (currently up to 30x of IE8) and standards compliance. You may have noticed Firefox quickly brought up their new javascript engine which will come out soon and be on par, if not faster, than Chrome's. So heat is already being applied and this is a good thing.

I won't criticize google for launching chrome. If they are big, it doesn't mean they should launch small products.
I would love it if they do something about operating systems. Linux is good, but it is still not comparable to Windows. What if google does something to Linux, make a standardized version of it, make it easier etc. I would love to see that happen.

According to me after few days when Google will launch other plug ins for it , chrome will be the first choice of all webmasters as well as other users those use low speed internet connections .

I can't see how a webmaster could use a browser like Chrome just yet. It's just not as functional as Firefox is.

Google is the evil. They have too much power, they do whatever they won't, they have the worse support ever.
Google manually adjust SERP, etc. and they won't even admit it!

Every software / service they develop has one single purpose: collect more information about you.

i think they should focus on the things they need to fix. Like counting links. You would think the largest internet site would work correctly. I have sites that are years old and have 6-7,000 links but google on shows 1000. Plus I have sites that show 12,000 one day and nothing on the next update. Pisses me off.

Google Chrome IS going to improve and Google HAS already released statements saying that the browser is NOWHERE near complete, this is just a BETA version and the finished product is still in development. And to be honest, Chrome has been pretty nice so far....

    Google is the new Apple!

It's just you who didn't know anything. GTalk for me is a flop, most people use MSN and Yahoo Messenger, not GTalk. Remember Google Answers? Where it's today compared to Yahoo Answers? Google Groups is not popular either.

The company I work at has just made it policy to not allow Chrome on company computers. Curious, as there is no such restriction on Safari!

I've had lots of success with Google's products. This is the fastest browser I have ever used and the browser is not cluttered with a bunch of junk that I would never use(Firefox). Gmail is the best email application that I have ever used as it keeps out the most spam than any of the other mail apps I have tried.

I installed Chrome and just didnt like the way it was setup. Now, I am very busy and I just didnt have time to mess with it very much so I cant really say that much about the functioning. However, what really annoys me about it is that I am constantly getting warnings from my firewall involving Chrome - even though I am not using it nor do I even have it open! To me that is just too invasive. When I dont have a program open it should just sit there and be quiet, no reason that it should be constantly trying to access the Internet for "expansion of exe" "update" or anything else.

That is the main reason I just uninstalled it, I do not have a software firewall so I have not been getting any warnings like that, but I did noticed that the Google update exe starts at windows start up.
As I am not using it as my main browser and only wanted to try it out, I thought it would be better to uninstall chrome rather than stop that process starting with windows, as stopping the process and keeping Chrome installed could lead to missing out on any important security updates.

    Cheers

Google Chrome is not bad. I rather like it, besides the fact that it doesnt have any plugins. Currently I use it more than Firefox now and its now my main browser. Firefox has about 100 tabs open in it, but while chrome cannot open that many tabs, it sorts of reminds me that I should not open too many tabs. Xp. The UI is also very simple, if you compare it with IE, its like MacOsX vs Windows Vista. While MacOsX looks simple, it really frees up a lot of screen space.

But whatever happens, I just hope people will move away from IE...it totally sucks. Like seriously. And if you are a web designer, supporting IE is one of the hardest things to do.
