    Alright,

I have installed Google Chrome in my lappy which runs on Red Hat Linux Enterprise.

    You can download it here

    How safe it is?

Well... don't trust me! At least trust these programmers! They designed these versions and believe me! They have not changed anything in the Chrome software. They just used Wine!

How did they make a Linux and Mac versions before Google did?

Its really simple! Even you can make a Linux or mac version if you have a little experience. There is a program called 'Wine'. This software adds the ability to run Windows based programs on Mac or Linux. So, you can run any .exe file.

    Now, Enjoy :)

Note for mods : I have written this just to contribute something special to DP members. :)

At the moment, I will continue to use FireFox as Chrome is in Beta. I will wait for a Stable release and when there are some extensions available too.

    Anyway, Thanks for the info.

well to test sites, it is okay
but chrome anyway uses WEBKIT rendering engine, which i can use natively in linux through KONQUEROR

so running an emulated windows-version of a software that originally stems from unix on a unix makes no real sense ;)

but thanks for the note anyway

    rep added for using linux!

Maybe because it is an open source browser...

Most Google products are "Beta" and will remain so, so they don't need to offer support.

If it works, use it, don't let the Beta tag scare you off...because it will likely remain there for some time

I was thinking about using chrome as my primary browser to test it out for a while, but I just use FireFox for now...

As rbucich says, Beta is beta.
