My brother got so fed up with his kids pulling off the decorations from his tree one year that he nailed it to the ceiling! Hahaha.

Our tree is artificial, green and about 6 foot or so. I used to like real trees but when it comes to moving them outside after Christmas the needles get everywhere.

Yeah my Dad never liked the needles either, especially when it was a bigger tree because he always got pricked lol.

I'm pretty sure my mum used to say something like that to my dad quite a lot at Christmas, too.

When I was a kid we had the same fake snow covered christmas tree for over a decade. It looked really good the first year, but as it got older the fake snow started turning yellower and yellower to the point it looked like someone peed all over the snow on covered tree. Merry Christmas pee tree.

I am told those tacky silver aluminum trees are making a combe back in my nieces generation. She wants one. Why I ask?

All of the decorations on ouur tree are hand made. We have so many you have to pick and choose. Typically after Christmas we start work on ideas for the next year.

Artificial tree here, 6 ft tall if I recall correctly. Probably won't set it up too early, since my son is trying to learn to walk... he'd probably just pull it down.

My wife loves to go the day (or weekend) after thanksgiving to get a fresh tree, although we resorted to tree farms the last 3 years instead of hunting in the woods for them.

Plus tree hunting seems so inhumane, after shooting it with a 306 and just feel so sorry for the sappling. Usually momma tree is right there towering over watching the sap ooze out from its wounds, then we cut its head off with a saw.

With current world population, if each family cut one tree that would be a lot of trees. Heard within last month it takes four trees (what size?) to exchange the carbon dioxide emitted by one human being. You may be being environmentally friendly.

Maybe. But then fake trees are hardly being made from friendly renewable sources. And I wonder how much tree went into the packaging of the fake tree.

    Just a thought.

Maybe we should just make trees with the toilet roll tubes.

    Or FedEx boxes.

But that's not topical any more.

Maybe we should just pick up all the twigs that have fallen off other trees and stick them together with mud. That would still look like a real tree and it would be good for the enviroment too :)

We just use a pretend tree and decorate it in our hearts and minds.
