If this is in response to fryman, I don't think the people he is talking about have credit cards - btw, he is in Mexico now and will soon be deported to canaDuh.

How easy is it for an average person to get a credit card over there? Here they almost give them to you inside the ceral boxes... anyone can get a credit card, and since the economy is hanging on pins, any sudden shake can send interest rates up the roof. It happened a few years ago and loads of people were ruined.

Debunked, the problem isn't really people not having credit cards, the real problem is that is is so easy that anyone can get one, but have no idea of how to manage them and only screw their life.

Unfortunately the same is true over here in the US. Credit card companies really target youth - get them hooked early seems to be the motto. When I reached my senior year in college was bombarded with credit card applications. Now they tarrget youth at much earlier age.

It is equally easy to get financing on new home. No money down, balloon payments, non-fixed rate schemes lure people into financing more than they can handle.

yup, in the states they even send them to your dog! There are people who have gone to court for maxing out their pets credit cards, of course the credit card company didn't know it was a pet??? I don't get it?!?

credit cards make up a hug percentage of the national debt.

Absolutely correct - I get all my christmas decorations the week or so after Xmas - the key is hitting the stores the morning the markdown goes from 50% to 75% - for wrapping paper, you can wait until they go to 90% off if you aren't picky.

I did break down a few weeks ago and paid full retail ($89) for Bugville at Costco ... but this is fairly unique and a LOTTA lighted bugs for the buck! ;-)

Must be nice living in a place where people actually have Christmas spirit... I've never even seen snow in my life, can't wait for the day I can go make a snowman with a carrot as a nose :D

Christmas in July actually means a big summer sale or something similar. No one in the US actually celebrates Christmas in July.

It's funny because I was just looking for Christmas decorations online, not because I want to celebrate early but because I'm cheap and I was looking for a good deal, lol.

It won't come alive and dance with you no matter how much you want it to happen.
