I conversed with this guy on AIM today, he had a provocative screen name so I asked him about his faith, we had a long discussion. I refrained from using some arguments that prove him wrong instantly like the Biblical interpretation of hell being interpreted wrong. On defining god.. Here's an epic subject-change after we dip our toes into the icy cold waters of creationism. On credibility.. A loving, sinister God Phenomenal sales-pitch I couldn't stop laughing at the end, why do Christians have to act like sales representatives for Jesus?
I agree here. If religion, any religion, is so great and wonderful, why do people have to go around like salesmen trying to CONVINCE people it's so great?
Religion dont cause a problem, its because of our poor knowladge we dont know much about our religions, i believe religion is way to life, if you learn and make it way of your life, you gona see it wont cause problem either it will resolve your problems
You appear to be instigating the questions. If you ask me, I'd answer you too. I think some of the claims you made are false though. Particularly, mounting evidence that disproves the bible. There really are two sides to it and there are facts that support both sides.
You seem not have any knowledge when it comes to science. Science if anything just proves that religion exist. Science was never against the idea of creationism in the first place like you falsely claimed. Peace,
Science proves religion exists? Well, I don't think you need science to prove that, common sense seems to prove that well enough
Intelligent design shows great evidence that some force had to have created all of these universal laws that we have today , like the ones einstein discovered that were there long before he was born. Now if your fundamental christian , yes you will believe that the earth is 6000 years old, but the 2 parts of the bible : genesis and revelations were never meant to be interpretated literally. If you believe in science then you must believe that the universe couldnt have been created by random chance and if you dont believe this then you must believe that some force or maybe some super intelligence had to have a hand in it. Just because someone is a christian doesnt mean they should close their mind and common sense to the world. Yes science does prove that god exists and i just pointed out one example of why and how it could be possible. and yes your right , common sense just proved it God bless and merry christmas
religion is man-made. if men (yeah women too ) create it, they can change it. I have no problem with good things religion teaches, but I'm sick of people think religion, God... is above all and control their heart, soul...
How many facts on the side of the bible being a made up work of fiction do you need to prove it's not the inherent word of a flawless god? I'd say just the one.
Christians are always eager to convert, but they see it as an attempt to bring non-believers to God, something they see as the ultimate joy and loving act. So, the ones who aren't total, violent, intolerant fanatics, I can kind of respect for that. Guys like the one above aren't that terribly aggressive, just convinced, and wanting to help "save" a stranger out of genuine affection for the human race, under the banner of God's love. Sadly, it's all bunk.
Please tell me where the dinosaurs are in the bible? Thats the biggest flaw that I see so far. If god created mankind on whatever day it was......but only created night and day and land and water a few days before that.....see where I'm going?
I know some of the most illogical, fanatic Christian believe the dinosaurs are a demonic hoax perpetrated by agents of Satan to push the belief of science and establish his place on Earth. Apparently, Satan is great with a plaster mold....
All you need to open up Bible. Connect what's going with the life and what happened and match up with other Holy Books.
yes it is right Christmas are so funny because it is function of christen people. but it is celebrate by all. that why it is funny function.
It's sad when people decide to believe what they want, in spite of logic. It's downright foolish to say the Earth is only 6-7,000 years old. Archeology has shown otherwise. If he'd read his Bible, he'd understand that it says nothing about how old the planet is. All it says is that 'in the beginning' it was created. Simple as that. If you have more questions fire them away, I'd be glad to clear them up for you
Dumb fundamentalists from all religions are funny. It's not an exclusive trait of Christian fundamentalists.
I find it quite odd that people have comments to say about religion (any religion for the most part) about how people are so quick to try and convert others. Has anyone not noticed that we have plenty of athiests lurking around these forums that fit that mold too. Just read this thread. It has nothing to do with the religion itself. It has everything to do with people who think they know everything and wanting to force their opinion on others. I don't care how you believe (or say you do not believe) you can still be in this category. Again, if you don't believe me, just read this thread over again.
Well, I don't believe you when you say that you will take all facts into account. The smithsonian released a statement that said that the bible was as factual as any other ancient greek writing out there. Are you willing to accept that? Probably not.
