http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redacted Redacted is feature film written and directed by Brian De Palma that premiered at the 2007 Venice Film Festival, where it earned a Silver Lion "best director" award.[2] It is a docudrama based on the real-life Mahmudiyah killings, the real-life rape, murder, and burning of Abeer Qasim Hamza al-Janabi, a 14-year-old Iraqi girl in March 2006 by U.S. soldiers, who also killed her parents and younger sister. [3] The film is scheduled for a limited release in the U.S. in November 2007 and another limited release in the U.S. in late 2007. The producers feel it may be more successful in Europe than the United States.[citation needed] The film was shot in Jordan.[3]
There are quite a few of these coming out. These will be great propaganda tools for islamists. Have you seen this one? http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/014/041llllv.asp Spot on. This is a major propaganda win for islamists.
This is not propaganda it is reality and it can not be redacted any more.It got so big and can not be hidden.
I disagree. It's very much so propaganda. I also believe we can both agree, that one-sided films with an agenda like this one will serve the cause of terrorists in Iraq. Who would possibly think it wouldn't serve to bolster their cause of killing? We're seeing one of it's first uses put to practical use right here and right now.
Do you believe this is a one sided film really ? The soldiers accepted that they are quilty , this is just a sample of what is happening in Iraq on daily basis. So who is quilty , the terorists ? , who are they ? We can see it.
propaganda ? This is what is happening in Iraq , the top of the iceberg. This is a docudrama details about the Al-Mahmudiyah killings can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmudiyah_killings The Al-Mahmudiyah killings occurred on March 12, 2006 in a house located to the southwest of Yusufiyah, a smaller village, to the west of the larger town of Al-Mahmudiyah, south of Baghdad, Iraq in which five United States soldiers with the 502nd Infantry Regiment, Spc. James Barker, Pfc. Jesse Spielman, Sgt. Paul Cortez, , and Pfc. Steven D. Green (discharged before the crime was discovered), gang-raped and murdered a 14-year-old[1] Iraqi girl named Abeer Qasim Hamza, after murdering her mother Fakhriyah Taha Muhsin, 34; her father Qasim Hamza Raheem, 45; and her sister Hadeel Qasim Hamza, aged 5. It came out after this event : On July 11, the Mujahideen Shura Council (now a part of the group, Islamic State of Iraq) released a graphic video showing the bodies of PFC Thomas Lowell Tucker and PFC Kristian Menchaca, soldiers from the same unit as the accused, who were allegedly kidnapped, tortured and beheaded. This was accompanied by a statement saying that the group carried out the killings as "revenge for our sister who was dishonored by a soldier of the same brigade." It also said that upon learning of the rape/murder, the group "kept their anger to themselves and didn't spread the news, but were determined to avenge their sister's honor." A statement issued along with the video stated that "God Almighty enabled them to capture two soldiers of the same brigade as this dirty crusader."[17]
war is an obscenity, put any soldiers in a situation like iraq and brutalities will occur. it was the same with vietnam. this is not the soldiers fault directly, but the fault of those nations using them as cannon fodder. we cannot play with young mens and womens minds like this, exposing them to untold horrors on a daily basis, of course some of them are going to snap and committ awful, heinous, acts. war is war, and i don't know why we are so squeamish about it. did we expect that our soldiers would go to war and dance with the enemy. i hope that anyone seeing the movie will only be moved by the tragedy on both sides, that of the family raped and killed, and the soldiers who felt pressured to do it.
Typical, no one will answer you on that. Why? Because they believe that all Americans are Christian (except those who say they are Jews or muslim.) It is so ingrained into the belief system that all Americans are Christian and probably that we are all Zionists too. Either way you are marked for death if you are an American.
Exactly what i thought! Any westerner is a christian Even if they were christians it wasn't done in the name of a religion like muslim terrorists do for example they praise allah for the terrorist acts or state they are doing the acts for allah . The film is trying to portray the moral equivalence, but the soldiers didn't rape the victims because the victims were infidels or because the perpetrators where christians but because they are criminals.
debunked , Toopac let's try to face it instead of trying to clean these brutal events. This is not a religious war as always , most of the muslims will not accept the guilts that the media and the western goverments are trying to stick on them.(This propaganda is for justifying the war and the killings) I am sure any sensible christians will not accept such events. But try to face what's happening in Iraq instead of trying to justify it.
That's totally false, the events are sick, so are the people who assume the perpetrators religion & use it as a way to attack 'christan's' & use it as propaganda. How do you know the perpetrators religion?
Gtech must be really happy that they are making a movie about his heroes. The poor guy wishes so much that he could be there and do the same things but he is just too scared to enlist.
Not sure what points you are trying to make in this thread. You won't find anyone saying that if a guy murdered someone that it was OK. You will also find that if one is caught they are tried in court, but something tells me you won't understand that one bit. this might help you some: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmudiyah_killings
Neither wiki pages mentions christian(s), so where does this come from, how do you know they were christians zangief?
