In my world travels I've seen no place as miserable as London except northern Ireland. The Republic is a fine and hospitable state, but as soon as you cross the border everything becomes darker, more paranoid, & hostile. Derry is downright depressing, Belfast little more than an industrial blight on beautiful land (for the benefit of her majesty's navy!).

As an American I do have to laugh at the idea of being jealous over your little toy empire. One of the biggest problems we've got in here is that we've gone a tad overboard in trying to blow your records out of the water. The Irish & Scottish laugh too as they suck out the last bits of tax funds from a dying English pound. They laughed at me, as a tourist, for paying your taxes in the legal shop: "Everyone knows about the tax-free markets!"

As Korr pointed out, Belfast and Northern Ireland is dreary, depressed industrialized dump that has never properly accepted the yoke of British rule. Southern (the Republic of) Ireland is a vibrant and cheery(for the Irish) society. Great beer, great night life, and up until this worldwide recession, a very thriving economy.

Feel free to keep going on and on about these "Christian Terrorists" as if the troubles had nothing to do with the British. It highlights your ignorance.
