First of all, here's a chapter of contents.

    Article Directories
    Duplicate Content
    Does PageRank Matter?
    Quality

    ARTICLE DIRECTORIES

I'm really sick of this discussion, and it's really gone out of proportion. The fact is article directories are absolutely fine. But, there's a reason why it's so cheap to distribute to so many of them. They were built to be directories. There weren't meant for quality content, just a quantity of content.

So, should you post to article directories? Absolutely.

Should you post to every single one? No. Not necessarily. There are probably better things you can be doing with your time and money. Focus on article directories with decent PageRanks. Spend your time with the Ezines and Amazines, iSnares and GoArticles of the world, rather than just buying a package because it submits to 1,000,000 directories that hardly get indexed (if they ever approve your article).

    The Duplicate Content Myth

Stop it. Stop lying to everyone. Duplicate content is not NEGATIVE. However, you must realize that duplicate content is only good for backlinks. If you posted the same article on 1,000 different sites, how many sites will be indexed by Google? ALL OF THEM!!! And, guess what? You're site won't suddenly fall of the face of the Earth (as far as SERPs) in fact, you probably will see some kind of bump.

Duplicate content is a GOOD THING! If your site is the site that all of these sites that posted duplicate content linked back to, why would that be bad? How on Earth would Google survive? Wouldn't we be talking about DROPPING YOUR COMPETITION instead of MOVING UP THE SERPs?

That being said, if you are planning on driving a site up the SERPs avoid duplicate content, because Google will drop a site from decent rankings, just because there is no need for duplicate content.

Copy and paste a paragraph from any associated press article. Search that in Google. How many times does that come up?

If you are creating a blog at Zimbio or Hubpages for the simple need of a backlink, screw the spinning. Just throw it up there, bookmark it and submit your RSS feed. YAY!!!

    Does PAGERANK really matter?

    For backlinking? YES

    For SERPs? NO!

I hate when people give me the top 10 positions in Google and their PRs. I don't care, that has nothing to do with why PR matters.

However, I can guarantee you if a site with the same content, same amount of backlinks from the same places and they had different PRs, that the higher PR site would be ranked above it.

But, for getting up there in the SERPs? We already know what matters. Content!! Yes, beautiful, related content.

PR matters, anyone who says otherwise is a fucking fool.

However, content is far more important.

    Quality

Ok, I refuse to ever have this argument again. Quality matters.

If you are going to pay someone to write articles for you, pay the few extra bucks for them to actually do some research.

Trust me, it will help with your conversions.

Think of it this way, you are just doing some good ole fashion link building.

You can get a shit article written for $2. But it sucks, and is only good for a link. However, in the life of the article, 20 people read it. 0 out of those 20 people are going to click through.

Now, you decided to pay $6-10 for the article.

Those same twenty people read it this time, but it's informative and makes you look like a freakin genius. only 2 people click this time.

Now, you distribute this same article 200 different places. Thats 2x200 different places. 400 clicks. You convert at a measly 1%. That's 4 additional sales.

So, for $4 more, you made an extra $100 bucks.

    Think about it.

If there are any other issues you guys were wondering about feel free to add it to this article and I will discuss it in the main portion

Sorry if this came off negatively, I just think some of these issues need to be addressed in a direct manner.

Have to strongly agree with you on quality :)

Without quality stuff the money spent on lower quality goods is just wasted.

    Nice info.
