Hello, I always seem to pick the same keywords. I would do a keyword search then I would pick the first in the list. Can someone tell me a what I should look for when choosing the right keywords?
Choosing the right keywords is the most difficult work at keyword research. But if you know the actual techniques then I’ll be easier for you. First of all, after creating a keyword list you should focused on 3 things. 1. Avg. Monthly Search 2. CPC 3. Allintitle First 2 help you to understand the popularity of the keywords but the next one help you to understand the keyword competition. If my keyword is “How to do keyword research ”, I search on Google for allintitle: How to do keyword research I’ll show a result value like 10520 or something. It means total those number of pages got the keyword in their title and if the result number is greater than 5000 then this keyword is high competitive. But my personal choice is always go for LTK (Long Tail Keywords) , like “How to do keyword research within 7 days” and this time my competition level will be low and I get my more targeted traffic. I think this’ll help you to choose right keywords.
Of course, your site ranking depends a lot on it. If you're choosing wrong keywords then your total project will be failed.
Use the words your audience would use, or what words you would type into Google if you were searching for the info you offer.

Choose keywords with moderate competition, and a decent amount of searches per month. Between 1k and 3k searches each month, and less than 30k unique results for that keyword are usually pretty easy to get ranked for if you know what you're doing.
Well you don't use keyword research tool to put your keywords and pick what has been presented to you. Keyword research is the most difficult and tricky part of SEO. It is you who knows best what keywords will be pursued to your site. Keyword research is just a tool that will give you an idea if a certain keyword is competitive or how much average search it gets on the web.
Ask yourself... Is the keyword relevant to your website's content? Will searchers find what they are looking for on your site when they search using these keywords? Will they be happy with what they find? Will this traffic result in financial rewards or other organizational goals? If the answer to all of these questions is a clear "Yes!" then proceed .
