Choosing the right domain

    Hi Guys,

I should start promoting a travel - hotel related website. My client already has a domain with a website written in four languages (+ 1 year old and PR0) and it's a .eu domain. My question is: is it better to start the promotion with the existing website (that is not enough SEO optimized) or with a new .com domain?
I'd appreciate some suggestion about. Thanks for your time.

I'd go with optimizing the older one. The older the site the better. And it looks like the existing website has nice content (if it's multilingual), so building backlinks will boost its' rank.

I agree. Just promote the older site. Google gives preferences to sites that have aged a little. So why not implement some SEO technique's to your existing site

I would start with a fresh domain (containing main keywords if possible), and start the SEO from the ground up. If the current site is not very well optimised and only 1 year old, your not losing much & you have everything to gain.

Key point: don't build too many links at once. Grow it very steadily.
    1) this looks more natural to Google
    2) You won't give yourself too much to do in the coming weeks & months. Google rewards consistancy & if you start off with 500 links in the first week, you'll have to keep that up.

    Good luck!

Yes, the older domains is much better. But a lot of marketing avenues check it mostly if the site submitted or posted is live.

Go ahead with the old one because its age is older. Google prefers older domain.

As previously stated, the older one is the best one to optimise, although you could simply copy everything over to the new domain and do them both together

An older domain is better of course, but I don't like .eu that much.
Whenever I search in Google there are always .coms on the top positions.

The older the better. Domain trust really counts in search engine eyes.

I believe that going with a domain name with one or two of your keywords in is very good, with the SEO side of things.

cis-web hosting is my domain name part, because the company is called "Corporate Internet Solutions" and we sell "Website Hosting"...

The site is not complete yet, but our other site is www.rsdarkness.com/

from which info shall be copied, be careful though.
