Hi, Im kind of new to SEO and I was wondering what advice anyone would have on choosing a right domain name that will gain easy traffic just by the name for type-in traffic. Does type-in traffic really exist? And also, would you recommend a domain with words put together or words seperated by dashes - ? What would you do?
You may try go to namecheap.com or godaddy.com and they will give you some suggestion. I prefer the keyword to be in front and use dot.com domain for better seo. hope this help.
What is your targeted keywords? Your domain should has your main targeted keywords or at least a part of them.
I think all the good domain names that get type-in traffic are taken...better pick any one relevant to your keywords.
Well Im trying to tackle different keywords to see which would be a good market/niche to startup with. But I wanted to find a keyword or phrase that I can put into a domain name and see if I can get type in traffic or have it move up the ranks in seo? Does it matter if you use .net or .org?
If you want type in traffic, you will need to do your keyword research on your niche and then choose a long tail keyword or short if you can find a domain. Make sure it is a .com and make sure you do not use any hyphens in the name. Lets say you were looking for auto insurance in miami. If you could get the domiain name "http://www.autoinsurancemiami.com" or "http://www.miamiautoinsurance.com" those would be ideal. If not, try some other keywords combined that you found in your keyword research. You would be suprised. There are a lot of people that will just type "miami auto insurance" right into the browser, not the search engine. When they do this, it automatically goes to www.miamiautoinsurance.com if that domain does exist!!! in this case it doesn't so you wont see it. Try it with one you know the domain exists.
