Choosing the category

Discussion in 'Co-op Advertising Network' started by nutsaboutgoogle, Jun 7, 2005.

When I register, there is the option to choose different categories, this means that my ads will show just for a specific category I have choosen or it's just to categorize my site?

    Let me ask another question:

How many text ads can I submit for revison?
    Thanks!

There used to be a limit of 20 active ads, it has now gone up to N(?).
For review you can submit loads.

Categorizing isn't implemented yet, the drop down is there for 'polling' only right now. So don't worry about it too much though do choose the most appropriate one.

    Are you validating?

See the FAQ in my sig. There's an entry about weight issues which has a list of questions and tick-boxes. Run though those and see which ones remain open. We'll answer those for you after you have a look there.

Yes I did! It's not finding it!

I did not submit any ads yet (if that makes any difference)

I'd like to add another account but how do I consolidate under only one account?

    Thanks

If you validate and have no red errors, you just don't deserve more than 0 weight probably. Again, refer to the faq for why.

Have another site? Sign up a new account. In the new account you can 'bind' your weight to the 'master' account in your preferences.

The weight is given to you, based on google indexed number of pages, and PR (using the API, which usually shows lower scores than your usual google search)

If your website is not in Google engine yet... Just wait.

    Good luck.

THat means there are still some pages in your website, that lack the ad-network script.

THe script must be put on ALL pages.

Q1) (but you really should study the FAQ) What is the Base URL in your account?

Q2) Are ads on ALL the pages WITHIN the Base URL as given in Answer 1?

Yes, I should study the FAQ (I'm just lazy)

Funny, now is not validating because is following links on Google that I had deleted over an year ago! What I did was to edit my account to be:

http://name. domain .com instead of http://www . domain .com

And I still did not place the code in all sub domains yet, but I can see that is working..since my sub domains have good PR I think that's all that matters here.
By the way the subdomains are cross linked with main domain so I think should be ok.

Thanks again for your prompt reply!

YOu don;t need to have the code on all SUBDOMAINS.

You need to have it, in all PAGES that are in your main URL. That't the one mentioned in your ad-network account.

    Cheers

    Thanks Cristian,

My understanding is that I need to have the code in all pages, main domain and including the pages located under my subdomains..tha's what I'm doing now!

You still don't get it. If you joined the network with let's say ...

    www. domain.com

You need to have the code on all pages in that domain :

    www. domain.com/page1.htm
    www. domain.com/services/page2.htm
    www. domain.com/forum/post2.html

    etc.

    NOT in the subdomains.

http:// forum.domain.com is a COMPLETLY different site, in Google (and ad-network) eyes.

If you have problems with some pages that are not really there anymore, but they are still in google... Use a subdomain, as you URL, in your account.

Then .. The sittuation will be :

    http:// subdomain.domain.com/page1.htm
    http:// subdomain.domain.com/services/page2.htm
    http:// subdomain.domain.com/forum/post2.html

    Got it ? :)

    Got it! Thanks!

Well, too bad I can only use just one subdomain right? Or can I open other accounts and use the other subdomains?

    Thanks
