My friend was just hired over at Photoworks in San Francisco to help out with their marketing. I told him to start with SEO so I'm trying to give him some pointers. Here is their website. http://www.photoworkssf.com I mentioned to him that he needs to come up with a title that will work for his niche. The keywords they want to rank for is "Digital Printing San Francisco" & "Photo Printing Bay Area". What would be the best title to use for this site? Is there anything else as far as SEO that he could do to help his Page Rank? The title I came up with for him was this. What do you think? Which would work best? <title>Photoworks: Digital Photo Printing San Francisco Bay Area</title> or <title>Digital Photo Printing San Francisco Bay Area | Photoworks SF, CA</title>
Did you do any keyword research to see which ones and which variations are more popular? Something like the google adwords tool, wordtracker or aaron wall's tool: http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/
First, did you correctly set geo-targeting in Google Webmasters Central? Second, the title should be geared towards the searchers and not the search engines themselves. Who cares if you rank #1 for a specific keyword or keyword phrase if it deters searchers from actually clicking the link in the search results?
Is there a correct way to geo-target in Google Webmasters Central? I have seen that setting in there but I have not touched it. Will my site not show up in other continents if I adjust that?
Pick the country you're in and GWC will take care of the rest. As for appearing in other continents/countries, you'll be fine, because the site will still appear in other countries' SERPs if the site was optimized properly.
